Michael Blair appeared on My 600-Lb. Life is back on season 9 episode 9. He was grouped under morbid obesity and was dealing with the health struggles that came with it. He was 609 pounds at the time.
He could not even walk at the time and needed the help of his wife for everyday tasks. Blair hailed from Conroe in Texas, and the doctors had expressed their concerns about his health. He could not stand for extended periods as his weight weighed him down.
The obesity was a result of traumatic experiences that he went through as a child. It all started when he was just 11 years old. After this, emotional eating became his defense mechanism.
It was revealed on My 600-Lb. Life that he lost some weight during college. During his introduction on the episode, he said,
"Every day, I wake up and struggle to start my day. Because of my size, just basic things are so hard for me now. But thankfully, I'm still able to at least get out of bed. I just can't go far. Usually, I can only make it to the couch or the bathroom to freshen up for the day."

At the beginning, he visited Dr. Now in Texas, hoping to get a bariatric surgery for weight loss. However, the doctor, after the thorough checkup, revealed a hernia that could be fixed and highlighted other issues.
He gave him a timeline of 3 months to shed 100 pounds off his body. This meant strict diets and no sloppy eating. Even though he failed his initial target, Blair was able to get to 512 pounds in the second round. During the third visit, he ended up losing a total of 135 pounds.
This prompted Dr. Now to perform another endoscopy to see whether or not he is eligible for the surgery. The episode ended on a cliffhanger with fans not knowing the future of this My 600-Lb. Life star.
In the recent episodes of 'Where Are They Now,' Michael was featured again, and this gave an update on his health.
It was only after a year into his weight loss surgery that the doctor approved his bariatric surgery. He weighed 446 pounds at the time. Then, after two years since he started, he was at a weight of 271 pounds.
Then he visited Dr. Now once again to remove excess skin from his body, which weighed around 19 pounds. Talking about the whole journey, Blair said,
"Finally, my body isn't something I'm trapped in, and I'm excited about that."
Michael has been following a strict diet and a routine, as he often uploads on his Instagram. However, he hasn't posted anything since 2023. Even though his weight loss journey was full of hurdles, Michael saw it through and also dealt with his hernia.
