The exterior shots display the extensive architecture that accurately captures the darkness and wealth of the Preaker family. However, fans should note that the interior of the building did not resemble the actual home.

The production unit constructed big interior sets at Occidental Stage in Los Angeles, while giving filmmakers whole creative control over the interior environments.

Creating a wind gap in Sharp Objects

The small Georgia town of Barnesville, situated near Atlanta, was transformed into the fictional Wind Gap for the show. Downtown Barnesville saw many business storefronts altered specifically for the finishing process.

The production unit recreated a railroad car to match the period aesthetic they displayed. Artists added many vintage graffiti to different walls throughout the space. Market Street served as the location for the fictional town police station, where many major scenes unfold.

A narrow alley between Forsyth Street and Market Street became the spot where investigators found a body. An isolated building on Atlanta Street served as the local bar where characters from the story would meet up, and secrets would emerge.

St. Louis' connection to Sharp Objects

The show opens with Camille leaving St. Louis before moving to her hometown. These opening shots feature two popular landmarks that residents immediately understand. The Busch Stadium features in the foreground while the legendary Gateway Arch stands visible in the distance.
