Where was The Asset shot? Revisiting key filming locations of the Netflix series

Netflix's The Asset streamed in its entirety this Monday on October 27, 2025. The Danish spy thriller seems to be doing well, as the six-episode series topped the global charts and ranked 3rd in the US. This reception has people across the world surprised, as the Danish thriller has managed to be just as popular as other Netflix hits like Monster: The Ed Gein Story and The Diplomat Season 3.

The story of an aspiring police cadet given a dangerous undercover operation for the Danish intelligence seems to have struck a chord with viewers across the world. The main storyline of The Asset is about a police trainee handed an assignment to befriend the wife of Denmark's most dangerous mob boss, Miran. Once inside, she tries her best to bring down Miran's gang while simultaneously protecting his wife and daughter.

Where was The Asset filmed?

The series is not a fantasy project, but rather a thriller set in the real world. Therefore, it did not have a wide range of filming locations that we usually associate with Netflix shows like The Witcher. Rather, given the Netflix show's genre, it seems that The Asset was shot entirely in Denmark, most probably around Copenhagen, the Danish capital.

The capital was the primary production location for The Asset between late August and December 2024. Afshin Firouzi, who plays the main antagonist Miran, confirmed the production start through an Instagram post with the following caption:

Copenhagen residents recognized several locales of the city, which doubled as filming locations. For instance, the production team reportedly set up camp around Hammerichsgade. Therefore, shops like REMA 1000 appear in the backdrop during a car chase sequence in the show.

Danish people also noticed cultural landmarks and popular tourist attractions in Copenhagen, like Christiansborg Palace, The Lakes, Frederik’s Church, Dronning Louises Bro, Nyhavn, and more, in the establishing shots.
