The narrative of the show deals with power structures, obsession, psychological games, and mystery, and the filming locations, along with the production design, create the perfect world for all of these layers to unfold.

As mentioned, the production of the show started in September 2024 and continued until January 2025, with the primary location being New Jersey. The show was filmed across various parts of New Jersey, featuring a mix of affluent small-town streets, dense urban cores, and gritty downtown architecture for contrast.

Red Bank, known for its suburban wealth and boutique main street, was used for a major portion of the series. Production dressed blocks on East and West Front Street to create the protagonist’s posh New Jersey neighbourhood. Boutiques, cafés, and preserved period houses completed the area’s look, giving it the perfect suburban feel. Red Bank’s small city streets made it easy for the crew to transform real shops into fictional businesses.

Jersey City provided some civic texture to contrast the suburban atmosphere. It offered a busier, more metropolitan backdrop for scenes involving public protests around Nile Jarvis’s development plans. Newark, on the other hand, contributed institutional grit and distinctive architectural backdrops. Branch Brook Park, famous for its cherry trees, along with the National Newark Building on Broad Street, helped form the show’s visual world. The city’s historic high-rise buildings with their institutional look provided a unique texture well-suited to a story about systemic power and civic decay.

The Beast in Me also utilized small locations and Parks to depict Aggie's isolation

Tamaques Park added some green spaces to the screen, serving as a setting for private moments exploring the characters’ grief and struggles. The characters are filmed in a way that makes them appear alone amidst the concrete jungle, perfect for portraying Aggie’s isolation and emotionally charged conversations.

The show also used smaller, distinct locations to reflect the characters’ mental states. Scenes requiring a corporate or transactional atmosphere, such as press conferences and meetings, were filmed in unique spaces that helped differentiate tones and moods.

In this way, The Beast in Me achieved a visual tapestry that enhances the story along with its tone and emotional depth.

The Beast in Me premieres on November 13, 2025, with all eight episodes available to stream.
