HBO also revealed that the pilot was completely shot on the Broadway stages in Brooklyn. This is how the show makes use of real as well as film sets to achieve the required film world. Read on to know the complete filming locations of the spectacular show, The Chair Company.

Where was The Chair Company filmed? Revisiting key filming locations

According to the narrative and story of The Chair Company, the show takes place in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, and includes a development project in Canton, Ohio. However, as mentioned, the entire production has been done in New York City, replicating a similar world that is authentic, backed by in-depth research and details in the production design.

Brooklyn in NYC was the spot where the majority of filming took place, especially scenes set in Ron's office and home; all those were filmed on a studio soundstage. There is a Broadway stage at 203 Meserole Avenue, and the show used Soundstage 23, particularly to create some stunning home and office interiors for the character they wanted to portray.

Broadway Stages is a well-equipped production complex with over 60 soundstages, previously used for shows like Mr Robot, Madam Secretary, and How to Make It in America. The cast often performed scenes in multiple variations due to rewrites, creating a unique and challenging filming experience.

Ron's office required some precise setup and lighting, and this controlled studio space made space for clearer sound and camera angles. Therefore, allowing for shooting multiple variations of the same scene without any interruptions, natural or logistical challenges.

Last but not least, Brooklyn’s studio environment allowed actors and crew to work without public interference, crucial for the multiple takes and improvisations that Tim Robinson’s comedy style demanded.

Manhattan added the authenticity that The Chair Company needed

Manhattan was the spot for selected scenes in The Chair Company, capturing the borough's vibrant streets. The skyscrapers and business hubs were some other offerings of this location, which adorned the show and its visual tapestry, creating a believable urban environment. All of this complemented the absurdist comedy elements as they were chosen carefully to fit the narrative while showcasing New York's architectural diversity.

Scenes filmed on the bustling streets and public areas enhanced the comedic timing. This is done by positioning the character's absurd action against a city backdrop that is dead serious. For the audience, Manhattan's visuals added a layer of relatability and humour for viewers who are familiar with the city. This also helped the show's surreal narrative, weaving it into the real-world urban context.

The Chair Company premiered on 12 October 2025, with the rest of the eight episodes dropping every Sunday following the weekly schedule.
