Most of the action that takes place in the series takes place in this renowned diner. Here, even the most dangerous supernatural beings come to take a break. Yes, the storyline is incomplete without The Mystic Grill, which was the rendezvous spot of Elena and her friends. It is not a surprise that after the show became a massive hit, The Mystic Grill became an actual tourist spot for the fans.
It is an actual diner where you can actually spend quality time and experience the quaint world of the vampires. It is located at 116 Clark Street, Covington, Georgia. Another intriguing location, which becomes the epicenter of many intense action sequences throughout the whole series, is the Lockwood Mansion. From Elena facing off with Katherine and almost getting killed, to the many get-togethers, which often became the source of intel about the past of the vampires and the other supernatural beings, is also an actual place.

However, it might be surprising to know that the Lockwood Mansion is not just one location. It is a combination of two. The fans can visit Worthington Manor along with 2129 East Street, SE, Covington, Georgia. These two places combine to form the interior and the exterior of the Lockwood mansion that we see in the series.
Just like The Mystic Grill and the Lockwood Mansion, The Clock Tower also plays a significant role. It is the location where much of the storyline unfolds. On the Clock Tower, Katherine decided to end her life. Similarly, many other intense moments also took place here.

It is an indispensable part of The Vampire Diaries. The actual location of the clock tower is 1124 Clark Street, SW, Covington, Georgia. The cemetery where Elena often visited to find respite, or where we see may intense moments between the vampires happen, is located at Southview Drive, Covington, GA.
Though many fans might want to visit the Salvatore boarding house, which is the connecting point for the whole series, much of the location is demolished. The boarding house is also a combination of two locations. One is Glenridge Hall in Sandy Springs, located at 598 Abernathy Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia, and the other is Foxglove Farm at 6471 224 Street, Langley, British Columbia.
