Al Bundy worked as a simple salesman with a meager income.

However, life had other plans for Al Bundy as he slowly began to get diverted in a completely different direction. Marriage is definitely not an easy situation for Al. His economic situation becomes the most difficult aspect of his marriage. He not only has to look after his wife and himself, but also has children. Hence, life is definitely not a piece of cake for the Bundy family.

Al Bundy’s life is filled with difficulties because of his dying career. Yet, he has the voracity for the simple pleasures that life provides him with, despite the struggles. The most intriguing aspect of his life is the past that he still holds on to.

His football days are something he wants to bring back, but it is hard to make happen. Al’s economic situation also puts him at a disadvantage with his wife. His family members mostly disrespect him, a feeling that he also shares towards them; however, he never backs away from protecting his family from difficult situations.

Al’s relationship with his wife, Peggy, in Married… with Children, brings forth a distinct level of humor. Peggy regrets getting married to Al, as she is unable to get the things she desires because of Al’s economic condition. However, she sometimes uses her skills to get Al’s money and use it for shopping, which often causes Al more trouble as he is unable to maintain the household.

The cast members of Married… with Children bring out the nuances of their corresponding characters in a realistic manner. There is an element of relatability that comes out of the authentic performance of the cast members. Ed O'Neill’s impeccable performance as Al Bundy as he navigates through the struggles that he goes through in his life leaves an impact.
