The Morning Show is back with another season of chaotic drama, but the one person who is expected to get the work done despite the drama, to keep things stable in the chaos, seems to be suffering the most this season.

The previous season wrapped up with the dynamics at UBA, which completely turned around as a result of the UBA and NBN merger. This led to the fourth season opening with a now merged UBN network, leading to many new faces being added to the company.

One such addition is Ben, the sports guy whose last name we never learn, played by The Good Place's William Jackson Harper. His addition to the company has been the direct link to Mia walking out. Keep reading to find out what happened.

The hard-working news producer, Mia, was all but guaranteed the Head of News position, but the third episode of The Morning Show opens with her preparing for the interview. While Mia has most of the votes from Stella to Alex, the person she really needs to convince is Celine, who is a tough nut to crack. She is looking for a fiery and "sexy" vision of journalism. To her, Mia is:

"A nice idea, but it's not sexy"

This is where Ben, the sports guy, enters the mix of The Morning Show. According to Celine, Ben is everything Celine is not. He has "reinvented" the Olympic sports coverage and will bring an extremely fresh perspective. All of this stands in opposition to the fact that Ben has no real experience in hard news, and Mia is the deserving candidate for the role.

Mia is not one to give up without a fight, so she pushes as much as she can. She reminds Celine that even reporting the cold, hard, and true facts in today's socio-political environment is fiery and incendiary and should be "sexy" enough for her. However, Celine is not convinced.

The thing is, hiring for the News Head position is Stella's job, but she has already compromised herself with the affair with Celine's husband. So, when the time comes, and Celine pushes Stella to choose Ben for the position instead of Stella, despite knowing that Ben does not have the credentials or experience for it, Stella gives in to Celine on The Morning Show. She gives in to Celine's demands under the fear that Cory will reveal her affair.

It's been proven yet again on The Morning Show that loyalty meant nothing at the end of the day. Mia feels rightfully betrayed and angry at finding out that Ben has been hired for the Head of the News position. No apologies or excuses will convince her to trust in the bond that she once shared with Stella. The only way Mia could get out of this with her head on straight was to quit. So, that's what she does.

Mia quits UBN on the spot and walks straight out. Sooner or later, they will realize that this is the worst decision they could have made, but the damage to the network's reputation might take a dive on The Morning Show until then.
