Ginny and Georgia, which was first released on Netflix in 2021, released its third season on June 5, 2025. The season picks up right after the final events of season two, which showed us Georgia being arrested at the end of her wedding.
But why was she arrested? Georgia Miller, played by Brianne Howey, was arrested as the alleged murderer of Tom Fuller. Season three of Ginny and Georgia focuses on proving that Georgia did not kill Tom Fuller.

Why is Georgia on trial in Ginny and Georgia Season three?
In Ginny and Georgia season three, Georgia is on trial because she is suspected of being the murderer of Tom Fuller, who was in a vegetative state for quite some time. While the entire third season focuses on Georgia proving herself innocent, we know that she isn't.
Georgia isn't new to murder. She had killed her abusive ex-husband, Anthony Green, by gunshot, which we got to see in a season one flashback. In season one, we also saw that before moving to Wellsbury, she killed her ex-husband, Kenny Drexel.
Georgia had seen him touch her daughter Ginny inappropriately and decided that Kenny was better off dead. She killed him by mixing wolfsbane in his smoothie. She did not get arrested for either of those murders. But she did get arrested for murdering Tom Fuller.
Tom Fuller was in a comatose state, which was extremely painful for his wife, Cynthia, and son, Zach, to bear. While Cynthia and Georgia did not like each other a lot, Cynthia made sure Gil (Georgia's abusive ex-boyfriend) could not rent an apartment in Wellsbury after she saw him being aggressive with Georgia. As Howey told TODAY about her character,
“Georgia didn’t want anybody to know what her relationship with Gil was like,”
Howey continued,
"But Georgia doesn’t have a lot of friends. The act of kindness Cynthia offered her — by making sure Gil couldn’t live in town — was paramount for Georgia. Nothing had meant more to her.”
Thus, in her own strange way, Georgia wanted to do something for Cynthia. She knew that as long as Tom lived in the unfortunate way he was living, Cynthia would never be free of her pain and grief. To end her misery, she ended Tom's life in a mercy killing by suffocating him with a pillow.
Brianne Howey also told TODAY,
“So yes, Georgia can feel morally ambiguous,”
“But Georgia feels that her intentions are pure. She wanted to give Cynthia the same favor Cynthia gave her — to remove the pain in her life. It’s very nuanced and complicated, but I think there’s a recognition between these two women about how hard it is to be a mom and a woman.”
But the question that arises is how the woman who had committed far more complicated murders before, without getting caught, got caught this time. No one saw Georgia kill Tom except her son, Austin. He would never snitch on his mother, so who did?
Well, season one of Ginny and Georgia showed us that Kenny Drexel's other ex-wife had hired PI Gabriel Cordova to investigate Kenny's murder. Cordova, disguised as Jesse, lived in Wellsbury in season two and dated Nick. When the news of Tom Fuller's death spread through the town, Nick told Jesse that Georgia was in Cynthia's house when Tom died.

Cordova used that information to get Georgia arrested. In season three, after spending a few nights in jail, Georgia is released on bail but is kept under house arrest as she awaits her trial. A lot happens in season three. Some relationships fall apart, while some get stronger. Ginny and Georgia both go through a lot of changes, and so do Marcus and Austin.
Finally, Georgia is not charged with murder; someone else is. If you want to know who is charged with said crime, you will have to watch season three of Ginny and Georgia, which is now streaming on Netflix.
