Amongst the many characters in Task, a character who steals the spotlight even with a shorter screentime is Frankie Grasso. Frankie’s presence in the series might not seem to be significant; however, it is not the case. Rather, Frankie’s character is crucial in depicting the subtle nuances of her brother, Anthony. In the series, Lilli Tay brings Frankie’s character to life with her striking performance.
Frankie Grasso in Task
In the seventh episode of Task, we see Anthony meet his sister, Frankie, at her house. The brother and sister’s relationship quickly becomes an intriguing part of the series. It can be understood through their conversation that they are close to one another. Right after Anthony’s arrival, they begin having small talk about what they have been doing. Frankie quickly asks her brother if he is seeing anybody and tries to introduce him to a girl she met at the gym.

However, Anthony stops her and tells her to never introduce any girl to him, remembering a past incident. When she asks if he wants to stay alone for the rest of his life, he answers that he is not alone, as he has her and the boys. Anthony’s words truly depict how deep their bond is. Soon, Anthony’s mood shifts, and he begins to tell her that “some things are going to come out.” Initially, Frankie does not understand what he means.
He slowly begins to remind her about the time when their mother needed a new place, and the house that Frankie is living in, all of which was paid for by him and not by his friend. He reveals how he works as an informant for money and is also responsible for the death of Lizzie. He also says that he will be coming clean to the police because he is “suffocating” because of his actions.
After hearing Anthony’s words, Frankie assures him that she knows how he really is, indicating that he is not a bad person. Her words soothe some of the pain that he is feeling. Even through the very short presence, Frankie’s character becomes crucial in depicting Anthony’s true nature. Her arrival in Task acts as a representation of the fact that Anthony is not a bad person, but rather his difficulties propelled him to make the choices.
He could have easily evaded telling the truth to his sister. However, his guilt and close relationship with his sister brought forth his true humane nature. It is truly remarkable to see how the creators of Task use one character to bring out the aspects of another character.

Lilli Kay truly does a phenomenal job in bringing out the essence of the struggle of a sister. Frankie understood the pain that her brother was feeling because of his action. She is also aware that, despite the choices that his brother made, they were made only to help his family.
Through each and every project that Lilli Kay took on, her ability to completely embody a character remained a constant. From projects like Your Honor, Chambers, For Worse, and Yellowstone to many more, her versatility shines bright through it all. Task comes with an IMDb rating of 8 and is available for streaming on HBO Max.
