In The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, Ben Edward defied a top CIA agent, establishing himself as a lone soldier who follows nobody's order but his own instincts.
This is when he is approached by Hank "Dash" Dashnaw (played by Pablo Schreiber), a CIA contractor, to recruit him into his CIA team officially. Dash's role is significant for making Edwards meet the intelligence community again, which drives the story in the show. Moreover, he also reflects the inner conflict of Ben as he seems confused about joining the CIA by the end.
Dash catches Edward at Norfolk Gateway Port. At first, Edward rejects his offer, saying that he shares a severe tie with the CIA. But, later, he is seen taking up the polygraph test in Langley, mandatory for CIA recruitments, signifying that he accepted the offer.

Who is Hank Dashnaw in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf?

Edward has completed two of his missions, and during his final arc, he meets Hank Dashnaw, who offers with to join the CIA in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. As mentioned earlier, Edward rejects the offer but then doesn't mind taking the polygraph test, validating what he did in Mosul, and under Haverford's order, suggesting he is looking forward to working with the CIA.
However, Edwards' motivation is confusing, being the one who has seen the agency's corruption yet believes that he could be the good guy in there. Dash here becomes the institutional hand, making Edward join a system that he deep down distrusts. Dash gets Edwards into the crossroads he is in. Dash can convince Edward to join the CIA; therefore, he works as a catalyst in making him join the intelligence team, which could be the next chapter of Edward's journey, setting up for season 2.
Dash's character is a narrative device in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf

Dash isn’t developed like Reece, Hastings, or Haverford; he’s more of a narrative device. Even though Edward knew that the CIA was corrupt, Dash's presence tempted him to join the CIA. The legitimacy it will offer to Edward's work, along with stability and purpose, Dash perfectly convinces him to take a chance. It is only Dash who has made this narrative twist possible so that the show could explore a more morally complex side of Edward in season 2.
Dash is shown as a typical company man recruiter who can sell the CIA dream to anyone. He isn't going to be a major player in the show, but is responsible for the role of planting the character in the right setting for the next season. He also reflected Edward's inner conflict as he seems confused between being a soldier for himself and working as a CIA operative.
Season 1 wrapped on Wednesday, September 24. According to reports, the show has neither been renewed nor cancelled as of yet.
