Who hosts the game show Press Your Luck? 

Press Your Luck returned for a brand new season on ABC this week on July 10, 2025. The concept of this game show is simple. The invited contestants are required to answer trivia questions, which will earn them a chance to spin the random cycling board.

There are always some new and different prizes on the board, including a Whammy, the show's mascot. A contestant needs to steer clear of it on the board or else they lose all their cash and prizes up to that point.

With the new season returning, Elizabeth Banks is back as a host for Press Your Luck. There is no denying that fans have seen her in a wide range of roles, and hosting on top of that is nothing less than an achievement.

She has titles such as Charlie's Angels and Pitch Perfect under her belt, while also appearing in movies such as The Hunger Games and Catch Me If You Can.

Apart from her jobs in front of the camera, she has also picked up a role behind it, as she opened a production house called Brownstone Productions with her husband, Max Handelman.

Elizabeth Banks on hosting Press Your Luck

As for Press Your Luck, she was hired by ABC in 2019 to host the series and has never looked back since. She is welcoming new contestants with the show's brand new season, and fans couldn't be more excited.

She sat down with Deadline to talk about her work throughout her career, and there was a mention of Press Your Luck. Elizabeth revealed how it feels being the host and what it is like for the fans. She said,

"People love it. People have favorite contestants that could come up to me."

Then the conversation navigated to the level of suspense, being backstage as a host and as the board does its thing. Sharing her feelings as a host, Elizabeth revealed,

"You have no idea. We are backstage and I have the ear thing and I'm going, 'Are they really going to spin again? This is crazy!' You know, like, we're freaking out.. We're like, 'Is this your TV or are they going to lose?' I don't want anyone to lose. I really don't want anyone to lose."

Elizabeth Banks, the host of Press Your Luck, says that there are a lot of nerves that the hosts and the crew members have while they are backstage. Sometimes, they even have to see hopeful contestants lose all their net worth on the show and come back down to zero. Sending a message to these, she says,

"But also, I do have to remind the ones that do sort of lose that they came there on that day with nothing, they were on TV, then they'll go home, they're gonna have all their family over for a barbeque, they're gonna watch their episode, they're gonna win the first half.

Adding, she said,

They all go home with something from the first part of the game. So, everyone is a winner when they get there to the end. But I really want a million-dollar winner."
