Hazbin Hotel has returned with Season 2 on October 29, 2025, and has quickly gained the viewers' attention with the surprising new twist. It was revealed that Sir Pentious was redeemed and was now in Heaven, shocking the residents of the place, who thought no one from hell could ever come to Heaven.

Apart from Sir Pentious's shocking arrival in Heaven, the premiere episodes also connected a famous pop culture lore with his life on Earth. As he was revealing his life, he shared that he saw one of his affluent clients kill several women, but did not report it. The story heavily matched with the real-life story of the notorious serial killer, Jack the Ripper, during the Victorian Era in London.

While more about the character is yet to be revealed in Hazbin Hotel, a demon named Ripper, the hell counterpart of the serial killer, has been a part of Helluva Boss, where he is shown as a narcissistic serial killer.

More on this in our story.

Who was Jack the Ripper in Hazbin Hotel? Details explored

Hazbin Hotel has been among the top-rated adult animated musical shows. With new twists and turns, Season 2 has also proven to be another hit. The biggest and surprising twist of Season 2 was Sir Pentious's arrival in Heaven, which shocked many.

When asked about sharing his story, he revealed that as a human, he was known as Pendleton, a socially anxious inventor living in Victorian London. The reason he shared that sent him to Hell was an ingenious idea of connecting the fictional story with a mysterious yet intriguing historical tale.

He shares that while he was working late at night at his house, he encountered a mysterious figure killing a vulnerable woman on the street. He quickly recognised that the killer was one of his influential clients. However, he failed to report him, which resulted in the killer committing five more murders and killing more vulnerable women of society. He tells them that this act of not reporting about the killer might have sent him to Hell, and later, when he was sacrificed in the Extermination battle, he was redeemed and sent to Heaven.

In Episode 2 of Hazbin Hotel Season 2, scenes of Sir Pentious witnessing the crime also show a dark figure looking back ominously at him, but it does not reveal his identity, referencing the real-life story of the serial killer. The real-life Jack the Ripper was also never found out, but since then, with the help of technological advancements, two people from the same era have been speculated to be speculated of being the notorious killer.

While Hazbin Hotel shared Jack the Ripper's connection with Sir Pentious's life as a human, Ripper as a demon is shown in its spinoff series, Helluva Boss. He is shown as a demon who is narcissistic and does not hide his crimes that he has committed as a human being. Due to his ability to wander around the Rings of Hell, resulting in him making many enemies, with the Lust Ring being the top priority. He is presented as a ruthless killer who mutilates and brutally kills his victims.

More about Jack the Ripper might be revealed in the future episodes of Hazbin Hotel, or we could also learn more about the character in the upcoming seasons of the popular animated series.
