The newest Netflix thriller, Unspeakable Sins, tells us the story of the Martinez family and the complications that they begin to face after Claudio is kidnapped. Claudio is the patriarch of the family, but his many negative aspects put him at odds with his family members.

Be it his wife or his children, his behaviour towards each one of them has created enough complications. After his sudden disappearance, initially, the blame was put on Ivan. However, it was then proved that Ivan was not the one guilty. Further complications began after Claudio’s son, Octavio, declared that his father had died. However, Claudio resurfaces, and it is understandable that even though he has many enemies, it is not easy to kill him.

Who Killed Claudio in Unspeakable Sins?

Helena and Claudio’s relationship in Unspeakable Sins was not a smooth one. Claudio tortured her and even controlled her. It is revealed that Claudio threatens to use the video of Fer and Helena, forcing her to stay with him. The video is of Fer hitting Christina, Claudio’s first wife, with his bike. The impact killed Christina, and Claudio made a video of the whole thing.

Helena is unable to take the incessant torture she has to face from Claudio. She begins to plan to ruin Claudio with the help of Ivan. However, her plan does not succeed as Claudio finds out about the camera. At the end of Unspeakable Sins, we see Claudio killed, and it is none other than Helena. Helena reveals all the secrets to Ivan. Ivan helps her to hide the weapon Helena had used to kill Claudio.

Helena’s motive was always to break free from Claudio’s shackles. She was a woman trapped in a suffocating marriage. She desperately wanted a way out and eventually had to make the decision to end the problem at its root.

Helena’s relationship with Ivan becomes her lifeline. After killing Claudio, she is finally able to escape the torment. She starts afresh with the man she loves. Her desire for freedom became her driving factor. She reached a breaking point. She could not take it anymore.

Claudio's murder cannot be said to be a cold-blooded act of killing. It was rather an act of desperation. This resonates with the viewers. By killing Claudio, Helena not only saves herself but also takes revenge for Fedra.

Helena also masterfully deletes the backups of the tapes that Claudio had kept. She uses safety precautions to make sure she does not make any mistakes. Helena and Ivan are finally free. In the end, we see them in Los Angeles. Claudio’s death acts as the catalyst for the people around him to find their own escape.

Helena’s journey from victim to someone who finally takes charge of her situation stays with the viewers. Unspeakable Sins keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats throughout. The manner in which the show keeps us in suspense sets this apart.
