The Gilded Age Season 3 introduced several characters, including Lady Sarah Vere. She was introduced in Season 3, Episode 4, 'Marriage is a Gamble,' and is depicted as manipulative and quite controlling. Who is Lady Sarah in The Gilded Age?

It turns out that Lady Sarah was the one who asked Hector to marry into the New York elite to secure his finances. When Hector married Gladys and brought her to Sidmouth Castle, Lady Sarah did her best to belittle Gladys. She disrespected her for not knowing the rules and even fired her maid.

When Bertha Russell, Gladys' mother, visited Sidmouth Castle after receiving her daughter's SOS letter, Lady Sarah insulted her by asking her to stay in a King's room who died young with unfulfilled dreams. However, Bertha didn't back down; she instructed her daughter to develop an interest in both the Duke and the estate. Gladys took the opportunity to boost Hector's confidence, and it was successful.

In the penultimate episode of The Gilded Age Season 3, Hector received a letter from the Russells saying they would take a few months to send the allowances. This left Lady Sarah upset, and she asked Hector to send Gladys back to New York now that her father had failed to send the money. Hector stood up for Gladys and answered firmly,

"Suppose I don't want to send Gladys back."

Although Gladys is gradually taking control of Sidmouth Castle and forming a bond with Hector, it seems Lady Sarah won't give up so easily. In the next season, we might see a confrontation between Gladys and Lady Sarah.
