Dwight Manfredi might be the heart of Tulsa King, but one cannot deny that Max Casella’s Armand "Manny" Truisi stole the heart of the viewers with his intriguing plotline. Manny and Dwight’s relationship from the beginning of Tulsa King was filled with many complications.
Max Casella’s Armand tried his best to stay in the good graces of Dwight. However, something or other came in the way, complicating things further for them. Armand in introduced in the first season as a former contact of the Invernizzi family. Let’s dive deep into Armand’s character in the series.
Max Casella’s Armand “Manny” Truisi in Tulsa King
Armand’s journey in the series is quite an intriguing one. It could be said to be a sort of redemption arc as he tries to find peace after leaving the crime world. However, things do not turn out well as he is pulled right back into the world of crime. In the first season, we see Armand trying to kill Dwight while he was going to give his driving test.
As the story progresses, Armand’s true intentions are revealed. Armand reveals to Dwight that he was involved in the attack on Dwight inside the prison. However, Dwight does not kill him. Their feud eventually comes to a truce. Armand begins to get involved in Dwight’s activities.

Though the first season of Tulsa King ended with Dwight and Manny in a somewhat positive situation, the second season completely changes the scenario for Armand.
In the second season, we see Armand struggling economically. After joining forces with Dwight, his life has taken a turn. Though in the first season he was an ally of Dwight, in the second season, his actions completely changed. During his difficult time, the entry of Cal changes everything for Armand.
Cal gives Armand money for information about Dwight. His desperation led him to make the mistake of betraying Dwight. Cal exploits Armand for the information. He also steals money from Dwight.

Though Armand could have easily run away with the money, he did not. Instead, he turned himself in. However, this time also Dwight does not kill him but uses him instead to lure out Jackie Ming.
Armand successfully helps Dwight fulfill his plan. Armand’s complex storyline in Tulsa King points to the desire to do the wrong things right and earn a second chance. He went through numerous tests and trials throughout the storyline.
Max Casella’s performance is key in bringing out the layers of Armand’s character in the series. The manner in which he handles Armand’s emotional highs and lows through the two seasons is truly remarkable.
The desperation and guilt that Armand faces because of his own actions resonate with the viewers. There is a different kind of challenge that he goes through in the second season.
The third season of Tulsa King is just around the corner. It is going to be released on September 21, 2025. The anticipation of seeing what the upcoming season holds for the main characters of the series is at an all-time high. The series is available for streaming on Paramount+.
