Who is Noni in Eyes of Wakanda? Details of the character explored in depth

Who is Noni in Eyes of Wakanda?

Noni, voiced by Winnie Harlow, is the lead of the very first episode of Eyes of Wakanda. She plays a crucial role in making sure Wakanda remains safe and protected. Noni was previously part of the prestigious special forces of Wakanda. In this force, women were the only soldiers.

This group of soldiers is extremely talented and highly skilled in combat. However, Noni gets expelled from the regiment because she is unable to work in unison with the group. She is then tasked to take on The Lion so that she can once again become a member of Dora Milaje.

The Lion is not an easy target. He ran away from Wakanda and started his own kingdom by proclaiming himself as king. He did not flee alone. He took with him, high-tech ammunition from Wakanda, and a group of people who were his loyal followers. As time passed, he became more powerful.

The kingdom of Wakanda fears that he might eventually attack them with his army. The safety of Wakanda becomes a concern. Noni is assigned to take on The Lion, bring back the stolen technology, and ensure Wakanda remains safe.

As the episode progresses, we get to see the reason behind The Lion’s actions. He was also a part of the highly skilled spy group of Wakanda. He was previously tasked to take on missions all around the world. However, during this mission, he came to know many secrets that started to impact him.

This led him to eventually leave Wakanda. Though Noni understands The Lion, she does not flee from her task. She takes on The Lion. Their fight is nothing short of legendary. The action sequences are intense. It is filled with breathtaking visuals.

In the end, Noni successfully defeats The Lion and becomes victorious. After her return, she becomes a War Dog for Wakanda. Noni's decision to join the Hatut Zeraze is crucial for her character development. It is a path that is more aligned with her unique skills and spirit.

Her determination shines bright in Eyes of Wakanda. Even though her opponent, The Lion, was extremely strong, she did not back down.

Each and every character of Eyes of Wakanda brings out the essence of the secret history of the kingdom. Each episode is a standalone and can be streamed on Disney+. In an interview with Marvel, showrunner Todd Harris talks about the show, saying,

“Ryan built such a concrete, palpable world of what Wakanda is today. Building backwards from that was basically the order of the day.”
