Instead of serving time behind bars, Agent Hotchner gave her a choice to pick from: help the BAU catch criminals or face prosecution charges. She picked the former. She even submitted a handwritten résumé in pink.
It was quirky. Most importantly, it was her, and it worked the charm. From there onward, Garcia transformed into the team's trusted technical analyst, though her route to the job was far from conventional.
