Who plays Juliet Cooper in Unforgotten? Actress's career and notable projects explored

Unforgotten, the critically acclaimed British drama, concluded its sixth season on September 28.

At the end of all the dramatic twists and turns, we finally find out how the misogynistic abuser Gerry Cooper met his end.

This season was another rollercoaster ride of emotions as the remains discovered on Whitney Marsh are investigated. However, the one thing that really stood out this season was the dead man's wife, the history lecturer Juliet Cooper, as played by Victoria Hamilton.

Victoria Hamilton's Juliet is a strong woman who displays quiet strength in every action and dialogue. Hamilton does a brilliant job of portraying the woman in Unforgotten.

After going through all the tail ends regarding Gerry's murder investigation in Unforgotten Season 6, as he was under a lot of debt and was involved in a lot of shady businesses, the truth turns out to be hiding right in front of the investigators. Gerry had many enemies, including a tenant who lost his son owing to the unlivable condition of Gerry's properties.

As Gerry's murder investigation continues, loose threads unfold into a reality that his murder might have been committed by someone close to him. His wife, Juliet, played by Victoria Hamilton, later confesses to Gerry's murder. She reveals that he came home drunk and abused her and even started getting physical. In an attempt to protect herself, she confesses to stabbing him in the thigh with a knife and locking herself in the room, unaware that he was actually bleeding out.

Finally, the woman, on returning from the bathroom, spots her husband's dead body, and in her survival instinct to protect her daughter as well, decides to cut his body up and dispose of it.

However, even though Hamilton's Juliet confessed to everything, her timeline doesn't seem to make sense, and the officers finally discover what happened when they hear Taylor, Juliet, and Gerry's daughter.

Taylor reveals that she would often witness his father being abusive towards her mother, and on that night, he was kicking her. So, to protect her mother on Unforgotten, she stabbed him in the thigh. Afterwards, her mother whisked her away and put her to bed after a bath. The next evening, her father was reported missing.

Since Taylor never witnessed Gerry bleeding after stabbing him, she never understood that she ended up killing her father and that her mother had disposed of her father's body.

Victoria Hamilton does a fantastic job as Juliet Cooper in Unforgotten, a woman who would do anything to protect her daughter, even if it meant taking the abuse or the blame for Gerry's death onto herself.

Hamilton is a familiar face, as she has worked in several acclaimed projects before Unforgotten, including Anna in Doctor Foster (BBC), the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff in COBRA, and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in the first two seasons of The Crown.
