Trent Clark is played by Angus Cooper, and he is portrayed as a reckless figure who ultimately sets off a chain of events that drive the series' climax. In love with Kai-Ming Chen, he accidentally killed her father, Ambassador Chen, during an argument.
Trent had gone to their home to deliver drugs in a misguided attempt to impress Kai-Ming. When the ambassador confronted him, Trent pushed him, causing him to hit his head on a marble table and die instantly.
As the son of a powerful crime boss, Trent had the resources to cover up the murder. His family staged the death to look like a drug overdose with the help of Stephen Yarrick, a key government insider. This cover-up eventually reveals a disturbing link between the Clark family and some high-ranking officials, further complicating Helen's mission.
Who is Angus Cooper?
Angus Cooper, who plays Trent, is a rising star from Rutland. Before his role in Black Doves, he studied acting at the Oxford School of Drama after completing a foundation course at RADA and earning a BA in Theatre and Performance from the University of Bristol.
Beyond acting, Angus is skilled at card games, a strong snooker player, and enjoys playing the piano and reading. He’s also a devoted Leicester City fan. Black Doves showcases his talent, portraying Trent as a key player in the thrilling twists and turns of the series.
At the end of Black Doves Season 1, Helen Webb discovers the shocking truth about Jason’s death. Jason, a secret MI5 agent investigating Helen, was killed on the orders of Trent Clark (Angus Cooper).
Trent, the son of London crime boss Alex Clark (Tracey Ullman), ordered the hit to hide his own crime, accidentally killing Chinese Ambassador Chen (Andy Cheung), the father of his girlfriend, Kai-Ming Chen.
