Who plays Varney in Beauty in Black? Terrell Carter's career explained:
While Tyler Perry's new Netflix series helped Terrell Carter attain a new level of fame, he has been in this profession for a while, working as an extra. The 6'5" Buffalo, New York resident's first noticeable moment was fourteen years ago in 2011, as one of the auditioning contestants of the US version of The X-Factor. In that audition, Carter expressed a passion for singing to the judges and went on to sing 1982's Ribbon in the Sky, sung by Stevie Wonder.
His prominent role was that of Warren Hall in Empire Season 4. Furthermore, it should be noted that Beauty in Black is not the first time Terrell Carter has worked on a Tyler Perry project. It would be Perry's 2003 play and movie, Madea's Class Reunion, where viewers saw him play the role of Corey. But Terrell Carter's talents are not limited to being in front of the camera.
He also wrote a book:
In March 2019, Carter added author to the list of his impressive skills. The Beauty in Black actor wrote an autobiography titled "Problem Child", which is 300 pages long. The autobiography received rave reviews from readers who were touched and captivated by the actor's personal life. The official synopsis of the autobiography on the Amazon page reads:
"'Problem Child' is the unbelievably true story of Terrell Carter, an American musician and actor who grew up in Buffalo, New York, in a dysfunctional family, each member crazier than the next. And the 'Problem Child' is the only one in the story who may, or may not, actually have a problem. An emotional journey of trials and revelations, with a huge secret at its core, this story may force you to laugh—just to keep from crying."
If Terrell did indeed leave speechless in his previous notable appearances, make sure to catch him in the first half of Beauty in Black Season 2.
