Rick & Morty already made headlines with the announcement that the eighth season will return. The fans can expect the voices of Rick and Morty to remain the same as they were in season 7. Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden, who replaced Justin Roiland, will continue voicing Rick and Morty in season 8. It has taken a long time, but season 8 is finally releasing on May 25, 2025. It was first confirmed way back in 2018 when Adult Swim struck a massive renewal deal with the creators, ordering 70 new episodes after the conclusion of season 3. That pledge meant the series would continue into 10 seasons at a minimum.

Rick & Morty aren't done with their odyssey, though. In 2025, Adult Swim renewed the show's future, another step in greenlighting seasons 11 and 12. So while the multiverse may be unpredictable, one thing’s for sure—Rick & Morty isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Here's the complete cast and character guide for Rick & Morty Season 8.

Rick & Morty Season 8: The main voice cast will return for the season

The main cast will be reprising their respective characters for this season as well. Here's the guide to the cast of Rick & Morty Season 8:

Ian Cardoni as Rick Sanchez— Ian Cardoni was born in Boston and started his career by playing the role of Rick on season 7, replacing co-creator Justin Roiland. He had supporting parts in Dead of Night, Grown Ups, and Clear History before Rick & Morty and will also play the Riddler in the DC: Dark Legion video game. His portrayal of Rickas a genius but dysfunctional scientist has been commended for perfectly carrying over the character's classic chaotic tone.

Harry Belden as Morty Smith/Evil Morty— In 2023, Chicago-born Harry Belden took over from Roiland as the voice of Morty, having appeared in shows such as Proven Innocent and Chicago Med and the Disney Channel film Christmas...Again?!. While relatively new to the industry, Belden has received acclaim for his near-perfect soundalike portrayal of Morty, including Evil Morty in season 8.

Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith— Spencer Grammer, daughter of actor Kelsey Grammer, has voiced Summer since season 1. She is known for starring in Greek and voicing Lynette in Solar Opposites. She was also part of the main cast in Ironside. In recent seasons, her character Summer has played a larger role, bringing her typical teenager energy with a desire for popularity. Grammer started her career with a cameo in Cheers alongside her father.

Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith / Space Beth— Canadian actress Sarah Chalke provides the voices for Beth and Space Beth. She is best known for her work on Scrubs, How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life), Roseanne, and Firefly Lane. Chalke has been voicing Beth from the start of the show and continues to bring emotional richness to the character. She also has a strong background in voice acting with credits on Paradise P.D. and Dogs in Space.

Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith— Chris Parnell voices the family's pathetic patriarch, Jerry. Parnell has provided the voice for Jerry since season 1. Known for his work in The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, 30 Rock, Archer, and Family Guy, his delivery just exudes perfect cluelessness and comic timing. Parnell is also well-known for his roles in commercials and as a prolific voice actor.

Who are voicing the other cast and characters of Rick & Morty Season 8?

Apart from the main cast, here's the list of other characters who will appear in Season 8:

Tom Kenny as Squanchy, Gene Gilligan & more— Famous for voicing SpongeBob, Tom Kenny has voiced a number of Rick & Morty characters, including Squanchy and Gene. Kenny's versatility brings depth to the show's wacky supporting characters.

Kari Wahlgren as Jessica, Diane & more— Kari Wahlgren provides the voices for Jessica and Diane, among other roles. Wahlgren’s range allows her to bring emotional weight and humor to the supporting cast.

Dan Harmon as Birdperson— Rick's often melancholic best friend, Birdperson, is voiced by series co-creator Dan Harmon. Dan Harmon is best known as the writer for Community and the co-writer of Monster House. While primarily a writer and producer, his dry vocal performance as Birdperson has become a fan favorite.

Jon Allen as Mr. Poopybutthole— Joe Allen lends his voice for the weird Mr. Poopybutthole. This character is a bit of a mystery. Allen has done voice work on other anime like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Dragon Ball Super besides Rick & Morty. Allen's quirky voice work brings the wacky world of Rick & Morty to life.
