Why is Charlie upset after Hannah and Pepe's date on Love Island USA?

Charlie was dumped from the Love Island USA villa not long ago, and Hannah was heartbroken about it. This all happened when Ariana Madix, the host for this season, revealed during a re-coupling ceremony that this time, the three new bombshells will be paired with the islanders based on the votes cast by America.

This meant that existing connections were broken apart, and the ones who were newly single were vulnerable and up for elimination.

Charlie was one of them, apart from Taylor and Huda. It was then left to the islanders to vote for the one they thought should leave Love Island USA, and they ultimately voted off Charlie. This broke Hannah's heart, who was just getting to know him. She and Charlie shared an emotional moment before he left.

The next day, however, to lift the spirits, the producers sent the three new couples on a private island date where they would get to know each other. Sitting down with People and revealing his feelings on why he was upset that his ex-girlfriend went on a date right after he left, Charlie said,

"I'll be honest with you — I accidentally saw a clip that they went on a date after, and it just made me feel a little bit sick. At the end of the day, what people have to understand is it's raw, the way in which it happened. I felt she chose me, and now she's with him.

He continued,

I want to watch my friends, but the truth is, I don't want to see Hannah and Pepe go on their journey now, because I can't help but feel there's a part of me that feels it should have been me.”

Charlie, who recently exited Love Island USA, has made it clear that he is not going to watch the show further. It is because he genuinely had feelings for Hannah and was looking forward to exploring that connection with her.

However, he feels he was stripped away of that chance, and now someone else is handed that opportunity.

Even watching them go on a date the next day was tough for him because this is a deeply intimate journey, and he cannot see Hannah with someone else, at least for the time being.

Love Island USA has many twists and turns, and Charlie is hoping that he gets to be a part of those. He wishes to be introduced back in the villa, especially when there are a lot of turns that lie ahead, especially with Casa Amor coming up soon.

Talking about the same, he said,

"I want them to send me back in there to go get her back. I think if they progress on their journey, and they're doing well, or even after Casa Amor, whatever's happened, send me back in.

Adding, he said,

Let's see how real it is. Let's see what her reaction would be. On a TV note, I think it would be great, but also for me, I feel like I was robbed of a real Love Island journey of two people."
