Why is 'South Park sucks now' taking over the Internet after the sitcom's recently released Halloween-themed episode on Friday? Has Trey Parker and Matt Stone's beloved animated sitcom landed itself in trouble after its constant insults and jabs at Donald Trump in the current season? Seasoned fans of the sitcom, wondering about the show's fate after this viral Internet trend, worry not!

'South Park sucks now' is a viral trend started by Stan and his classmates in the latest Halloween-themed episode titled 'The Woman in the Hat'. After his town's over-the-top political happenings and the recent government shutdowns landed his family in trouble, Stan started this trend in the episode (referring to his town and not the show), which has grown popular on social media.

Sitcom fans are enjoying Stan's meta humour with 'South Park sucks now', which was the main highlight of the recently released episode.

More on this in our story.

What is 'South Park sucks now'? Exploring the sitcom's latest viral trend

'South Park sucks now' might be trending on all of social media and X right now but the Stone and Parker-created sitcom is not in any trouble (thankfully)! For fans wondering what this new viral trend is (which is taking over the Internet), it is a hilarious meta sequence voiced by none other than Stan in the latest Halloween episode.

In 'The Woman in the Hat', Stan Marsh was enraged after his father lost his job at the United States Geological Services following a government shutdown, forcing his family of four to live with Grandpa Marsh in his retirement facility. In a moment of total rage, Stan realises that this harrowing condition is because of their titular town's politics and thus gives this (meta) speech:

“How many weeks has it been now, dealing with one stupid thing after another? The truth is, I think a lot of people are afraid to admit it. Yeah, everyone knows South Park sucks now and it’s because all this political stuff is being totally bogged down in it. Remember when we used to do stuff, ever since all this political crap took over.”

While this meta speech was a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the Right Wing's frustration with the sitcom's recent (and brutal) jabs at President Donald Trump, it initiated a viral 'South Park sucks now' trend on social media.

This very concerning sequence had a hilarious resolution when Stan introduced a 'South Park sucks now' cryptocoin and asked Kyle's cousin Kyle Schwartz to fetch support for his memecoin from President Trump. However, in true sitcom fashion, Kyle realizes that crypto is a scam that allows the rich to launder money from the poor and become even richer. In the final moments of the episode, as Kyle took his leave from the White House, Stan sadly returned to the retirement facility with his family.

The Woman in the Hat saw a haunted White House

In addition to Stan's outrage and his failed stint with the memecoin, the sitcom's Halloween-themed episode also featured a haunted White House, taking a jab at Trump's decision to demolish the White House's East Wing to make room for his $300 million ballroom last week.

In the episode, Trump complains about a haunting 'entity' plaguing him ever since he tore down the White House's East Wing. When he sees the apparition in the mirror while showering, Attorney General Pam Bondi is called in to perform a ritual and rid the White House of this ghostly entity. However, in true South Park fashion, the ritual goes sideways when Bondi becomes a conduit for the entity, who is revealed to be First Lady Melania Trump in a giant purple hat that covers her face.

After the possessed Bondi shouts 'lies' and 'Epstein', cousin Kyle had a terrible realization about the cryptocurrency scam and order was finally restored in the White House.
