Why did Ming Lee and Jackie argue on Basketball Wives Season 12 Episode 8?

Basketball Wives season 12 dropped episode 8 on June 30, 2025. The episode featured Brandi gathering up a few of the ladies and trying to talk to them. However, it does not take long for the conversation to turn sour because some of them start an argument within the same group, especially with the presence of Jackie.

As soon as the business of her family was brought up in the open, Jackie called her son and was able to leave the spot. Everyone was against the decision except Denise, who supported that it is Jackie's life and she should be able to talk about it all herself without being forced to.

The Basketball Wives segment started with Brandi thanking everyone for coming and meeting with her, as it means a lot to her, especially when other ladies, such as Evelyn and Brittany, did not want to join them.

Upon hearing this, Jackie questioned as to why Brittany did not want to come and whether it had anything to do with her presence. Avoiding her question, Brandi continued and started talking about Chantel and how the two of them talked about joining the group.

Basketball Wives Season 12 - Why did Jackie and Ming Lee argue?

Jackie showed her lack of interest in the conversation taking place and decided to call Dougie, her son. However, this was not okay with some of the ladies, and Jennifer said in her confessional that Jackie would do anything she could to get out of talking about certain things.

As the phone was hung up, Brandi continued her conversation and said that Chantel had heard some stuff that she wanted to talk to Jackie about. However, Basketball Wives star Jackie was ready to storm right out of there, and she stood up with her coat ready.

Denise was on Jackie's side and said,

"I think we can care, but we also have to respect people's wishes."

Ming stepped in and contradicted by asking Jackie about what they should do if Chantel, her daughter, comes to the group and expresses her feelings about something. Jackie said that if this happens, the group should "deal with it" and talk to her while being there for her.

But then Ming Lee got defensive while the other Basketball Wives watched. The argument escalated, and Jackie told her to back off because she can advocate for her daughter and how she feels.

But Ming said that Jackie claims that it is a family business, but the family is bringing the company to them, and they do not know how to deal with it all.

She added that it is okay for Jackie to ask the group questions about Chantel and her whereabouts, but she walks away when they do the same to her and hold her accountable. She said in her confessional,

"Jackie is being the biggest hypocrite. She always wants to address the elephant in the room. But as soon as Jackie's elephant gets caught in the fur, 'Oh, I'm not talking about that.'"

However, the argument on Basketball Wives ended better when Jackie clarified that she just doesn't want to talk about Chantel without her being present with them. She says she likes Ming Lee and sees the point, but also wants her to understand where she is coming from.
