For Hulu, Mike McMahan and Justin Roiland developed the adult animated science fiction sitcom Solar Opposites. After their home planet, Shlorp, is destroyed, four aliens, Korvo, Terry, Jesse, and Yumyulack, crash land on Earth in the series, and the others like living on Earth, but Korvo wants to fix their ship and go.

In addition to alien police known as the SilverCops, the series includes a secondary story about humans who have shrunk and are imprisoned in a terrarium. The sixth season will air in October 2025, marking the show's conclusion. It premiered in May 2020. The show blends elements of science fiction and comedy.

Solar Opposites concludes with Season 6 on October 13, 2025. The creators opted to end the tale intelligently, concentrating on significant elements like the Wall and SilverCops. With a strong voice cast and themes of acceptance, the show is still a beloved, original Hulu animated series, with no plans for Season 7.

Solar Opposites will conclude with Season 6 and will premiere on Hulu on October 13, 2025. The animated sci-fi comedy, created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, has been captivating audiences since 2020.

Co-creator Mike McMahan recently shared some insights at San Diego Comic-Con. He explained that although there was plenty of creative material left, the team decided that six seasons was the right place to wrap up the story. McMahan explained,

“It feels like the end of a book. It’s satisfying but still open for more someday.”

The show's talented and dynamic voice cast has been one of its most prominent features. Korvo was formerly voiced by Justin Roiland but received a new voice in Season 4 when Dan Stevens took over the role. Mary Mack brought warmth to Jesse, Sean Giambrone as the cynical Yumyulack, and Thomas Middleditch stayed as the optimistic and Earth-loving Terry.

The introduction of new characters and returning fan favorites, such as Tiffany Haddish as the ship's AI and Alfred Molina as The Duke, adds excitement and complexity to the final season.

The show's creators resolved major stories from the previous season, notably those related to long-running arcs such as "the Wall," a terrarium full of microscopic humans, and the SilverCops, corrupt space police introduced in later seasons. While remaining true to its silly, irreverent roots, executive producer Josh Bycel claimed that this season has the show's most heartfelt content to date.

Originally simply mission companions from Planet Shlorp, the characters have evolved into a close-knit family of queer, gender-neutral alien immigrants adjusting to life on Earth. The program stands out in the adult animation industry because of its themes of acceptance and individuality, which have struck a deep chord with audiences.

Even though Solar Opposites stops after six seasons, its fan base remains committed and diverse. The show's blend of melancholy moments and sci-fi drama has been acclaimed by fans of all ages.

Tiffany Haddish is a prominent cast member. He stated that during her comedy gigs, folks over the age of 70 usually notice the program, and Solar Opposites has retained a loyal fan base. This is mainly because of its ability to appeal to a wide variety of age groups through comedy and challenging topics.

Ultimately, the decision to cancel Season 7 was not based on poor performance or waning interest. Rather, it was a bold decision to end on a strong, purposeful tone. Although the final episodes promise to conclude the Solars' journey, they also leave open the possibility of future spinoffs or special episodes. At the moment, Solar Opposites stands out as one of Hulu's most distinct animated series—brash, odd, and memorable.
