After five fantastic seasons, Will Arnett is finally leaving his position as host of LEGO Masters. For the sixth season of the FOX show, Nick Cannon will take over as host, replacing Will Arnett, who led the show from the genesis of the show. This is quite the change for the series, which has won over fans with its fun and creative LEGO building challenges.

In this show, teams of two people per team compete to build amazing LEGO creations, all for a shot at winning the LEGO trophy and a $100,000 prize. The show is based on a British version and has become a favorite among FOX viewers. Will Arnett brought humor and energy to the show, and now Nick Cannon is stepping in to take it forward.

Arnett's hectic schedule seems to have played a role in his leaving, even if FOX has not given any particular explanation. He has a number of initiatives planned, such as writing and acting in future shows and other ventures. While continuing to fulfil his other obligations, Cannon, who presently hosts The Masked Singer, will assume hosting duties. The network was thrilled about this new phase for the cherished show.

Nick Cannon to replace Will Arnett as LEGO Masters host

Nick Cannon will officially replace Will Arnett as the host for the show’s sixth season. The entertainer with numerous skills in his arsenal already has strong ties with FOX through his work on The Masked Singer, making him somewhat of a natural choice.

Cannon expressed his enthusiasm for the new role in an official statement:

"I'm a huge fan of LEGO Masters," he said.

He explained further, saying:

"It's an honor to join the series and host another show with my FOX family. Season six we're bringing an action-packed hour full of family fun, passion and for the first time ever, in-person audition episodes. I can't wait to see the insane creations and give away a big bag of money to the best of the best."

The new host will juggle multiple responsibilities. He continues hosting The Masked Singer as it enters its 14th season, where he also serves as executive producer. Additionally, Cannon remains busy with Wild 'N Out, his sketch comedy series heading into its 22nd season.

Arnett's departure coincides with several major career commitments. The actor will write and star in Bradley Cooper's next feature film, Is This Thing On? The project includes an impressive cast featuring Laura Dern, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, and Christine Ebersole.

His voice acting career also remains active. Arnett will return as the villain, Sweet Tooth, in Peacock's Twisted Metal alongside Anthony Mackie. Season 2 of the series premieres July 31 on Peacock.

The timing suggests Arnett's packed schedule influenced his decision to step away from LEGO Masters. Multiple simultaneous projects would make hosting duties challenging to maintain.

What is next for LEGO Masters?

FOX Television Network President Michael Thorn praised the transition in an official statement:

"We're thrilled to bring LEGO Masters back for another season," Thorn said.

Elaborating, he added:

"Alongside our incredible creative partners, this beloved series continues to captivate audiences. Originally launched with the wonderful Will Arnett, the show now enters an exciting next chapter with Nick Cannon at the helm, who brings a new fun energy to the competition."

Season 6 will introduce new elements, including in-person audition episodes for the first time. The production team remains largely unchanged, with executive producers including showrunner Shyam Balsé and representatives from Plan B Entertainment.

Arnett will not return to his old position as executive producer for the next season either. This complete departure marks a new beginning for the series rather than a short break as might’ve been expected from the now former host.

The show's format and reward system remain the same, with teams vying for the $100,000 big prize and the title.

You can catch LEGO Masters on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT) on FOX, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
