The CW's popular sports drama All American is in its seventh season, and the plot is getting more exciting and wilder. While there's no official confirmation about its renewal, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll has teased an interesting update about All American Season 8. Ahead of the Season 7 finale, Carroll revealed to Deadline that she has already begun working on the plot and feels quite optimistic about All American Season 8.

This Daniel Ezra-starring series first premiered on October 10, 2028, and since then it has received steady ratings and critical acclaim. With over 16,000 votes, the show has secured 7.6 out of 10 stars on IMDb.

Inspired by the true story of Spencer Paysinger, a former American football linebacker, the series delves into the life of Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), a young South Crenshaw High School football star. However, his life changes when he joins the elite Beverly Hills High School. Amidst family drama, love triangles, and intense rivalries, Spencer battles for his NFL aspirations while staying true to himself.

Surprisingly, All American Season 6 saw the departure of several regular characters, including lead character Spencer James, played by Daniel Ezra. The Season 6 finale concluded Spencer James' story, in which he won the Super Bowl, established himself as a successful footballer, and settled in New York with Olivia. Ezra chose to leave All American as a regular because he felt his character arc was complete and wanted to avoid repetitiveness. Additionally, he wished to pursue new career opportunities.

Only three original cast members returned as series regulars for All American Season 7: Jordan (Michael Evans Behling), Coop (Bre-z), and Layla (Greta Onieogou). However, Ezra and others appeared as guest characters in Season 7.
