Apple TV's thriller series Down Cemetery Road has garnered a steady buzz since its premiere. With Season 1 coming to an end, the viewers were left with one question. Is Down Cemetery Road coming back for Season 2?
Apple TV has yet to officially announce a renewal or cancellation of Down Cemetery Road Season 2. The finale episode of Season 1 tied up pivotal ends, including Dinah Singleton's fate and the illegal military experiments, and the cover-up came to the surface. However, the ending teases that the story is not over yet. With C escaping the entire fiasco and joining the private sector and Hamza wandering on the road with three mutilated fingers, the plot for the second season seems to be in place, with new cases awaiting PI Zoe. Since Down Cemetery Road is adapted from Mick Herron's Oxford Investigation series, the showrunners could adapt the second novel from the series titled " The Last Voice You Hear". The preview reads (via Goodreads),
"Oxford private investigator Zoe struggles with the aftereffects of her violent past as she hunts for a killer or has she become the hunted?"
Will Down Cemetery Road Season 2 happen?

As of now, Apple TV has yet to announce whether to renew or cancel Down Cemetery Road Season 2. Since the renewal of any series depends on several parameters, including critics and audience reviews, cast availability, production costs, and overall reception, the streamer may take some time to announce its decisions. However, it seems like the series might be renewed for a second season. And if yes, the show might drop in 2027 or later.
The showrunners can easily adapt from the second book of Herron's Oxford Investigation series (Zoe Boehm series). Apple TV's Emmy-winning series Slow Horses is also adapted from Mick Herron's novel. It is renewed for the sixth and seventh seasons. So it's highly likely that just like Slow Horses, Down Cemetery Road might be renewed too. The series has approximately 7.1 stars out of 10 on IMDb and 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Apart from that, the cast's performance has been phenomenal, and the series has kept viewers hooked till the end with its thrilling plot.
Down Cemetery Road Season 1 ending explained

A lot happened in the Season 1 finale episode. To begin with, Sarah and Dinah reached the mainland, and Hamza kept a close watch on them as per C's orders. Zoe joined them. Turns out the ferry captain brought her back to the mainland. Meanwhile, Amos, after killing Downey and Steph, followed them to the mainland.
Hamza hijacked a bus and kidnapped Sarah, Zoe, and Dinah, and took them to an empty church. But when C realised that Hamza wasn't ready to kill them, he employed Amos to do the task. Amos reached the church, almost burnt it down with a grenade. He caught Zoe's leg and grabbed her. Zoe fought back and stabbed Amos' eye with a nail. Amos hit a hard surface, and his head cracked open. Meanwhile, Hamza tried to locate Dinah; however, Sarah saved her at the last moment, and when a gun backfired, Hamza lost three fingers.
Sarah, Dinah, and Zoe left the church and escaped in a vintage car. They then took a train ride to London, and Sarah and Zoe handed Dinah to Ella, Downey's sister. Zoe left without saying a proper goodbye. Turns out she is too emotional. Meanwhile, Talia confronts C as he utters the truth about the illegal military experiments with the soldiers. Talia, instead of exposing him, chooses to shred the evidence. Soon she learns that C has resigned, and in the closing scenes, we see that he has joined the private sector, indicating that the threat persists.
