Sirens took everyone by surprise earlier this year when it dropped on Netflix. The show did not promise much but it definitely delivered more than what we expected. It is a limited series that soon became one of those shows people couldn’t stop talking about. Viewers were drawn to its dark comedy and emotional storytelling. Many viewers were left wondering if that really was the end. After all, when something this good comes along, it’s hard not to hope for more. Plus, the ending seemed like there was more to explore.

But the thing is that it was officially made as a limited series. That means Netflix didn’t plan a second season from the start. But still, fans have good reason to stay hopeful. The show, created by Molly Smith Metzler, premiered on May 22, 2025, and it made an impressive debut. It hit the number one spot in Netflix’s Top 10 English TV list and brought in more than 16 million views in its first few days. With numbers like that, it’s no wonder people are asking whether Sirens might return after all.

Sirens tells the story of two sisters with different personalities, lifestyles, and choices. The show takes a look at class and privilege. It also looks at how people see themselves when surrounded by wealth. There is humor but not without tension. Charm and luxury are facades that hide the uncomfortable truths of life. The dialogues and depth gives us a story that feels funny but also pretty realistic when it comes to the way it portrays the inner complexities of the human mind.

The show has not been renewed for another season yet. Netflix hasn’t made any official announcement about its future. For now it is still a limited series. But that hasn't made it a forgotten one. The show’s creator, Molly Smith Metzler, had said she’s open to continuing the story if she finds the right direction for the characters. In a May 2025 interview with Glamour, she said:

"I just love this question because to me, it means that people love the characters, and that’s the ultimate compliment. These characters are real people to me. I wrote the play [that Sirens is based on] 15 years ago. I’ve been thinking about them this whole time. I could write them until the day I die. I’d never say never, but could I do them justice in another season? I’d have to think about it."

The main cast members have also hinted that they’d be willing to return if Netflix gives the green light.

Another reason people are keeping their fingers crossed is how well Sirens performed. It was one of Netflix’s top shows during its release week. It brought in over a billion viewing minutes which is huge for a limited series. And Netflix does have a history of changing its mind when a show performs exceptionally well. So the chances of Sirens coming back aren’t completely out of the picture.

Netflix takes its time deciding renewals. Especially for shows that were never meant to continue. They look at completion rates, viewing data, and how much buzz the series keeps generating after its release. If fans keep watching and talking about it, the scales might be tipped. So there’s no official news right now. But there’s still a spark of hope.
