Alien and the Predator franchises have both received their share of rejuvenating experiences with Alien: Earth from Noah Hawley and Predator: Badlands, bringing the sister franchise back to life. The prequel to the Alien franchise made its debut on the small screen on FX in August 2025, and in a span of mere months, the Predator franchise's Badlands also earned a theatrical release in November 2025.

The two releases being so close to each other sparked a lot of hope regarding a crossover between the two franchises. Here's what the Alien: Earth creator, Noah Hawley, had to say about such a crossover.

The Alien franchise is clearly thriving under Disney and Noah Hawley after the success of Alien: Earth and its renewal for a second season. The case is similar for the Predator franchise, which recently received a theatrical release for Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands.

While no crossover has been confirmed between the two franchises, eagle-eyed fans have constantly been looking for any mention of the same. Noah Hawley has previously addressed the possibilities of a crossover and maintained a fairly neutral stance on the subject.

In a previous conversation with ScreenRant, he explained that there was a bit of a firewall between TV and movies. And that their main focus when it came to the franchises would be to ensure that there was no duplication between the two, rather than coordination. However, he did keep the possibility open by stating that Alien: Earth needed to establish its success by itself before moving towards any directions of potential crossovers:

Dan Trachtenberg, he's on his own mission, and there's a bit of a firewall between the feature side and the TV side. Maybe in success. We have to prove ourselves on television. Maybe a larger conversation will start mostly not to coordinate, but probably to make sure we don't duplicate because that begins to steal some of the energy from the franchise. But I'm excited to see that film.

However, in a much more recent conversation, he completely shut down the possibility of a crossover between Alien and Predator, at least not onto Alien: Earth:

No, not onto the show, I don't think. I think Dan Trachtenberg, who made 'Prey' and has made the 'Badlands' movie — you know, I loved 'Prey.' I think he's doing a great job with that franchise. He clearly has a plan there. I've met Dan once, we're not kind of coordinating any of that stuff. So, it's not really my plan to do it.

Hawley's latest comments completely shut down any and all possibilities of a crossover between Alien and Predator on Alien: Earth. Nevertheless, these two franchises have a sprawling history and an equally unpredictable future, so hopes for a crossover, even if in different projects, remain undiminished.
