I Love LA is coming back for another season. HBO has officially renewed the comedy series for Season 2. The news confirms that Rachel Sennott will return to Los Angeles once again as the show continues its story. The renewal comes after the show became a strong success for HBO and HBO Max.

The series has quickly turned into one of the network's most watched new comedies. According to reports, I Love LA is on track to become the second most popular freshman comedy on HBO Max. The show is currently averaging around two million viewers when live viewing and streaming numbers are counted together. This performance played a big role in HBO's decision to move forward with another season.

The renewal was announced alongside another comedy pickup. HBO also confirmed a second season for Tim Robinson's The Chair Company. This shows that the network is doubling down on comedy and feels confident in both shows moving forward.

The show I Love LA follows a group of young people living in Los Angeles and their personal and professional relationships with each other. Maia is played by Rachel Sennott, who is also a rising star in the talent management industry and is trying to build her career while balancing her relationship with her boyfriend, Dylan (Josh Hutcherson).

Why was the show renewed?

HBO's decision to renew I Love LA was no surprise to most people in the television business. The series had strong initial ratings and managed to maintain interest from viewers; strong streaming data and social media activity helped to further the success of the series. Some industry reports indicate that the show has been one of HBO Max's strongest comedies in recent years.

The series is producing significant amounts of buzz due to its cast and its insightful view of modern-day Los Angeles. Rachel Sennott is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner; Emma Barrie serves as a showrunner on the show as well. Other executive producers include Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri, and Lorene Scafaria. Direction for the series was handled by Sennott, Scafaria, Bill Benz, and Kevin Bray.

Sennott has indicated during her interviews that the show is "Entourage for internet girls" because of how similar their lives are to one another. She has said many of the story's elements were based on real-life events that occurred in her own life. Sennott stated that she lived in a very chaotic state during the last half of her 20s after living a very uneventful first half. That experience was a main contributing factor to the tone and theme of the show

When could I Love LA season 2 air?

At this time, there has been no official release date or filming schedule announced for a second season of I Love LA on HBO. Production timelines would indicate that Season 2 may potentially come out toward the very end of 2026 into early 2027; however at this point in time, this is also unverified information.

Currently, there has been no official announcement concerning the total number of episodes in Season 2 of I Love LA as well. Season 1 has a fairly standard comedic format, which we expect Season 2 to also follow.
