The Morning Show fans simply love to see the cat-and-mouse games between Alex and Bradley, the turbulent newsroom politics, and all the huge celebrity appearances. That is why when the present showrunner, Charlotte Stoudt, was asked in an interview with Deadline whether The Morning Show will have a Season 6, she was truthful but not too direct. She did not give a resounding yes, nor did she give a clear no. Instead, she provided a practical, real-world answer: the future of the show is based on a combination of factors like whether there are good storylines left to be explored, whether the actors are willing to reprise their roles, and whether Apple is willing to keep investing in the series. What did showrunner Charlotte Stoudt say about The Morning Show’s futureThe Morning Show showrunner, Charlotte Stoudt - Source: GettyCharlotte Stoudt did not leave any cliffhanger-style news about a sixth season of The Morning Show, but she made the situation clear. In her case, the story always comes first. The possibility of the show being renewed will hinge on whether the writers and stars (yes, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon!) believe there are still some plots left to be covered. With The Morning Show Season 5 already confirmed, when Deadline asked if that would be the last and final installment, Charlotte Stoudt replied:“Part of that truly is an Apple question. And also the actors. They’re very busy, and they have lots of other things going on. I would say we’re early enough in the writing room this year that my real answer to that is, I’m not sure. It’s just about, where do you where do these people end up? And how long does it take them to get to a clarity about their lives? And certainly. Right now, I don’t know anybody is feeling that clear about anything. [It’s] a very destabilizing time.”Stoudt explained that they do not wish to make another season simply because they can; it is necessary that The Morning Show have a natural closure. She has also identified the practical considerations of renewal decisions, such as the schedules of actors, their contracts, and the tremendous effort invested in creating such a massive show.It is that combination of artistic decisions and business concerns that has led to networks not making a renewal determination until a season is finished (or even after).Season 4 left plenty of story fuel for another chapter View this post on Instagram Instagram PostStorytelling-wise, The Morning Show Season 4 finale had no shortage of unresolved threads, which could easily lead to another season with the messy power plays, relationship changes, and new villains or newsroom scandals. Stoudt has even indicated that she is sincerely thrilled about where some of the characters might go, provided that the show continues to draw inspiration from real-life concerns, such as corporate secrets or even cultural battles, while retaining the emotions to be very personal and real. However, she also issued a decent warning: a show cannot go on because it should. An overstretched story may lose its effectiveness. The best solution, according to her, is to go with the natural progression of the story. Should Alex, Bradley, Cory, and the rest of the UBA world still have some honest and urgent issues to deal with, a Season 6 would be required. Otherwise, it would be better to pull the plug than continue the show to fill a streaming calendar. For more such insights on The Morning Show, keep following SoapCentral.
