Will Unspeakable Sins Season 2 happen? Here’s what we know so far

Unspeakable Sins recently premiered on Netflix and is already rising through the streaming charts. The Mexican telenovela revolves around Helena, a woman who is in a loveless and violent marriage.

When she falls for a young man named Iván, she plans to break free from the control of her husband, Claudio, but things go awry, and the two lovers get embroiled in a world of lies, deception, and mystery.

The show features 18 episodes, but ends on a cliffhanger, which has left the audience waiting for more episodes. While Unspeakable Sins Season 2 has not been confirmed by Netflix yet, there is still a possibility of the show being renewed.

The renewal status and possibility of Unspeakable Sins Season 2

As of now, Netflix has not renewed Unspeakable Sins for a Season 2. However, considering the viewership and popularity of the show, it is possible that the streaming platform will announce its continuation in the near future.

The series premiered on July 30, 2025, and entered the top 10 chart on Netflix within three days. Since the viewership of a program plays a major role in its renewal, an Unspeakable Sins Season 2 seems likely as the first season continues to impress the audience.

At the same time, the show is a telenovela, which usually lasts for around 120 episodes. The first season features only 18 episodes. So, going by the ‘telenovela’ label, there are multiple seasons that could be in store.

Additionally, Netflix has consistently shown faith in Mexican content. Shows like Diablero and Dark Desire have worked well on the streaming platform and have continued for years.

Lastly, the first season of Unspeakable Sins ended in a way that has already set up a future conflict. The cliffhanger ending of the Season 1 finale has introduced a new villain in Helena and Iván’s lives, so there is still a lot left to be explored from the story's point of view.

All these things point towards the likelihood of a Season 2; however, we need to wait for an official announcement by Netflix. The streamer sometimes takes weeks and even months before announcing a show’s renewal.

If the Mexican series does get renewed in the upcoming days, the second season will likely take a year to be produced and is expected to premiere in the latter part of 2026.

Who will star in the show's second season?

If the second season happens, the lead duo of Zuria Vega and Andrés Baida are expected to return as Helena Rivas and Iván, respectively. Other cast members who can reprise their roles include Ana Sofia Gatica as Livia, Sebastian Garcia as Fernando, and Manuel Masalva as Octavio.

However, Erik Hayser may not return as Claudio as the character died in Season 1. The only way he can be brought back into the narrative is through flashbacks. The same goes for Armando Hernández and Mario Morán, who might not reprise their roles as Magic and Mario, as the characters are now dead. The series can also have some new cast additions based on the storyline, but again, we need to await Netflix's official confirmation.
