Wash realises that Titch never truly cared for him as a person, but saw him more as a useful assistant for his experiments, particularly because of Wash’s gift for illustration.

Wash's perception of Titch has changed now, and he isn't someone who saved him out of kindness but is another privileged man who ultimately prioritises his ambitions over human connection. Titch is pursuing his scientific dreams and working on a spacecraft in the Moroccan desert.
