Yellowjackets Season 4 is happening - Paramount+ with Showtime has renewed its popular show for a fourth season, a month after the Season 3 finale. The previous season ended on a major cliffhanger, which hinted at the show's return for another season, but fans have finally gotten confirmation about the same today.
Yellowjackets has almost become a cultural phenomenon at this stage, with its popularity increasing every day. In fact, the show has become so popular that the Season 3 finale, that released on April 13, amassed over 3 million views in the first seven days itself, becoming one of the highest viewed episodes on Paramount+.
Speaking about the renewal of Yellowjackets Season 4, Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, says,
"Yellowjackets’ has become a cultural juggernaut, with Season 3 shattering all previous records – we are thrilled to announce its renewal for a Season 4 on Paramount+."
McCarthy even went on to praise Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the creators of the popular show, stating that they have masterfully balanced the story to skillfully juggle three different genres.
"Ashley and Bart have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon — a perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast."

Yellowjackets Season 4 picks up after Mari is revealed as the Pit Girl
Yellowjackets Season 3 ended on a big cliffhanger, however, it also answered several of the long-running questions in the show. One of the most important such details was the revealing of the true identity of the Pit Girl as Mari, which took place after Shauna and Tai decoded this mystery.
Yellowjackets follows the story of a high school girls' soccer team that meets with an accident - an unfortunate plane crash that leaves them stranded in the middle of nowhere. The story then follows the girls as they overcome their issues, while also highlighting the descent of a team of thriving young girls into a savage clan.
Yellowjackets Season 4 will feature a stellar cast, including the likes of Samantha Hanratty, Warren Kole, Courtney Eaton, Christina Ricci, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Simone Kessell, Steven Krueger, Sophie Nélisse, Melanie Lynskey, Sarah Desjardins, Liv Hewson, Lauren Ambrose, Tawny Cypress, and Kevin Alves.
Season 3 also features Elijah Wood, Hilary Swank, and Joel McHale, among others. While Elijah Wood has played a recurring role, Hillary Swank has also shown promise of reappearing on Yellowjackets Season 4.
