William H. Macy is spilling tea on Dan Fogelman's upcoming NFL series, set to stream on Hulu.

The actor was talking with Deadline during the Critics' Choice Awards red carpet, where he was asked about the upcoming series.

Answering the question, he said:

"I could tell you, but I’d have to kill you."

However, William H. Macy did give some information, adding:

"It’s about a football team, nominally the Cleveland Browns. It’s called The Land because that’s what people from Cleveland call it. I play the owner of the team. They’re brilliant scripts. They’re Shakespearean. It’s about football, but, oh, my lord, the plots are so profound, and I’m having the time of my life."

William H. Macy said it has a little bit of a Friday Night Lights feel and revealed they have full access through the NFL. According to Macy's answer, Dan Fogelman's upcoming NFL series is called The Land.

William H. Macy, who is playing the role of the owner of the team, said he's positive about the series, adding:

"I’m optimistic it’s going to be something. And what if Cleveland starts winning? Because I think our team is going to do better. There's the real Cleveland Browns and the reel."

The cast of The Land reportedly includes William H. Macy, Mandy Moore, Christopher Meloni, Omar Epps, Chace Crawford, Sam Corlett, Michael McGrady, Thomas Q. Jones, Calahan Skogman, Tanner Zagarino, Jamie Bacon, and Chloe Bennet.

Alongside, Dan is also working as a writer on the upcoming series 17 Sundays and the upcoming season of Paradise, according to IMDb.

The NFL series is a collaboration between 20th Television and Skydance Sports, with Dan Fogelman as the creator, executive producer, and writer. It is currently under pre-production with no confirmed release date announced so far.

While William H. Macy provided details about the Hulu series, earlier this year, the creator of the series, Dan Fogelman, also revealed the casting on his Instagram by welcoming them. Posting the photo of Chris Meloni, he wrote:

"Got our coach"

A month later, in August, he posted a photo of William, taken from the Deadline article. Welcoming him, Dan wrote:

"Got our owner"

In another post, he uploaded a photo of Mandy Moore, who has previously worked with him on This Is Us. The text on her photo, written by Dan, read:

"Rapunzel, then Rebecca, now Lauren. Mandy is about to crush. Again."

Showing the appreciation and admiring Dan Fogelman's vision, Michael McGrady, who is in the cast of the series, wrote on Instagram:

"It’s an honor to once again be working in the Fogel-verse with some crazy talented cast and crew members. @danfogman is an incredible creator and show runner. I’m proud to be part of both @paradiseonhulu and the NFL project, which we are currently filming."

William H. Macy will be playing the role of Hank Durkin, while Mandy Moore's character is named Lauren Durkin, and Christopher Meloni's character is named Danny Roarke. At this time, the character names of the rest of the cast are yet to be revealed. According to Deadline, McGrady is playing the role of a defense coach.
