Werewolf Drew Ferran's coming-of-age adventure is returning to Netflix in Wolf King Season 2 on September 11, 2025. This British animated series, based on Curtis Jobling's Wereworld book series, premiered on March 20, 2025.
After months of speculation, the streaming giant renewed the series for Season 2. Additionally, Netflix also announced that the sophomore season will also be the series's final and will adapt all of Jobling's remaining books.
Wolf King follows a sixteen-year-old Drew, whose world changes when he suddenly learns that he is the only remaining member in a long ancestral line of werewolves. Release and streaming details for Wolf King Season 2
After months of speculation and anticipation, Netflix finally dropped the official trailer for Wolf King Season 2, confirming that the new and final season will drop on September 11, 2025. Since Season 1 barely scratched the surface with only two of Jobling's books, Rise of the Wolf and Rage of Lions (from the total six), fans were hoping to get a new season.
Reports also suggest that the animated show was always planned for a two-season run on Netflix, and Wolf King Season 2 will essentially conclude the story and adapt the remainder of Jobling's books, altered for screen by the author himself. The remaining books in the series include Shadow of the Hawk, Nest of Serpents, Storm of Sharks, and War of the Werelords. Fans of Jobling's works can expect many sequences from these books to be adapted in the sophomore season.
Drew will learn the burden of becoming King in Wolf King Season 2

Drew Ferran's coming-of-age arc will conclude with the final season of Wolf King, as he will fight new enemies and learn about the burden of becoming King. While Season 1 saw our protagonist learn the secret about his lineage, the final season will feature an important arc, where Drew will have to face the consequences of being the 'Chosen One.'
Wolf King Season 2 will follow Drew as he goes against his powerful enemies, especially the Lionlords. The teenager must end the long tyranny of the Lionlords and earn his rightful throne from King Leopold and Prince Lucas. The fight for the throne is not only an individual quest for Drew, but also a symbolic restoration of his werewolf lineage, who were earlier overthrown by Leopold's ancestors. In the final season of this adventurous tale, Drew will rightfully take what's his, but his path will be laden with challenges and brutal enemies.
Lastly, fans can also expect a romantic arc for Drew in Wolf King Season 2, which will be his symbolic transition from a boy to a man. Being a King also comes with the additional responsibility and the daunting task of choosing a Queen, and our protagonist already has his eyes set on Lady Gretchen. The trailer hints that Lady Gretchen might become the Wolf Queen to our titular King as he calls her 'refined', 'graceful', and 'all things a Queen is meant to be.'
