Mistress Isabelle Brooks is not here to sit quietly, and it was made clear when her tactics on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars were called out. However, she does not see a problem with that and feels like her strategy is exactly what wins games against queens who do not want to be civil with her.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Mustress expressed that her actions were completely justified within the game and the structure provided by the bracket system. However, she thinks that they should not be taken personally or out of the show.
She got a huge backlash for her schemes against Kerri Colby, Nicole Paige Brooks, and Tina Burner. However, some of the people who have been on the very same stage before have also extended their support to her. She said,
"I’ve gotten calls from every major Drag Race girl worshipping me, acting a fool. I went into everything with no strategy. I’m just literally mentally ill."
During the second episode of the bracket system, it was seen that Jorgeous and her devised a strategy to take away points from Kerri and Nicole. This shocked the duo on the receiving end, who did not think that Mistress would do such a thing. However, explaining her actions, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' contestant said,
"That’s why I kind of had no respect for Kerri and Nicole, because y’all are in la-la-land, not realizing the severity that what’s going to happen is going to go by very fast. Baby, it takes one week to fall behind, and you’re out the game. She thought she had it figured out, but the player got played."
Mistress justifies her actions on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
Mistress, who has been a drag queen for a long time and now, is now appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' new season, thinks that the audience needs to understand what the culture is all about.
She feels that they should publicly celebrate these "shenanigans" as they add to the fun of drag. Explaining her point of view, Mistress said,
"I wish more people would publicly celebrate the shenanigans, because that’s what drag is all about. The sooner people stop crucifying the girls for making good TV, that’s when we’ll get more iconic moments just like this. I don’t give a f--- 'ruining' people’s lives and acting a fool on TV, because to me it’s just TV."
Continuing, she adds,
"I think for any b*tch to take this serious, you must not know what you’re signing up for. That’s like if we went on Family Feud and I’m f---ing crying because I lost. That sounds stupid as f---. We’re all here to play a game."
Earlier on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, Mistress has also played with Tina Burner, who was angry at her strategy. She had paired up with Lydia from season 17 and decided to have a strategy for the delegated points in the bracket system of the show. This is a new method introduced on All Stars this season, which comes in handy during eliminations.
Talking about Tina and how she was upset that Mistress decided to hold her points off, she said that the drag queen was just not ready for a challenge and when the latter had made it obvious that dhe was concerned about Mistress, she had put a "bullseye target" on "her big, wide back."
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 10 drops new episodes weekly on Fridays at 3 AM Eastern Time on Paramount Plus.
