A Yellowstone alumnus has joined the cast of Lioness Season 3. Lioness first premiered on Paramount+ in 2023, and Season 2 was released in October 2024. Now, in October 2025, the show has been renewed for a third season, and as Variety reports, Ian Bohen has joined the cast for Season 3.
Bohen played the character of Ryan in Yellowstone. Initially, Ryan was a recurring character, but then he grew to be a main one in Season 4. It wasn't Bohen's first role in a Taylor Sheridan project, and it won't be the last, since he is going to star as Grady in Lioness Season 3.
Ian Bohen is going to star in Lioness Season 3
Lioness follows a CIA program and its leader through several missions. Season 2 of the show aired from October 27, 2024, to December 8, 2024, and ended with Joe returning from a dangerous mission in Iran. While she was physically safe, she was emotionally shaken and reunited with her husband, Neil, who finally understood her sacrifices.
The season ended with Joe's team surviving, having suffered no lives lost despite severe injuries to some of its members. Ian Bohen is going to join Season 3 of the show as Grady.
As Variety reports, Grady is
“a by-the-book Delta Force operator and primary K9 handler, skilled in battlefield tactics.”
A story for Season 3 is yet to be confirmed by the creators, and hence, we cannot yet tell how Grady would fit into the story. However, he has been cast as a regular and thus will most likely have an important storyline of his own.
Other than Bohen, Lioness Season 3 will star Zoe Saldaña as Joe McNamara, Nicole Kidman as Kaitlyn Meade, Morgan Freeman as Edwin Mullins, Michael Kelly as Byron Westfield, Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz Manuelos, and Genesis Rodriguez as Captain Josephina Carrillo. Other cast members for Season 3 include Dave Annable as Neal McNamara, Jill Wagner as Bobby, LaMonica Garrett as Tucker, James Jordan as Two Cipsy, Austin Hébert as Randy, Jonah Wharton as Tex, Thad Luckinbill as Kyle McManus, and Hannah Love Lanier as Kate McNamara.
In addition to Yellowstone and Lioness, Bohen has worked on two other projects written by Taylor Sheridan, Wind River and Sicario: Day of the Soldado. His other notable roles include playing Freddy Bhaer in Little Women (2018), President Edwards in Air Force Down (2024), Young Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1997-1998), Peter Hale in Teen Wolf (2011-2017), in Breakout Kings (2012), Daniel Dunn in Major Crimes (2012), Edwin Stillwell in Chicago P.D. and Mitch Anderson in Superman & Lois (2022).
Lioness is written by Taylor Sheridan and Thomas Brady. Sheridan is also the showrunner and an executive producer on the show, along with Jill Wagner, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Geyer Kosinski. Lioness has been produced collaboratively by Bosque Ranch Productions, Cinestar, Blossom Films, 101 Studios, MTV Entertainment Studios, and Paramount Television Studios.
The first two seasons of Lioness are streaming on Paramount+. You can watch Ian Bohen as Ryan in Yellowstone on Peacock.
