In an interview with Variety, the Yellowstone executive producer Christina Voros partly solved this mystery:"It’s such a different story. The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view."Though new projects like Dutton Ranch and Y: Marshals tie directly into the Yellowstone saga, the Pfeiffer-fronted series stands apart. Set in the same universe yet seemingly charting its own path away from the legendary Dutton lineage. In addition to Pfeiffer and Fox, the upcoming series also stars Ben Schnetzer as a rancher, Elle Chapman & Beau Garrett as Pfeiffer’s respective daughters Paige McIntosh & Abigail Reese, Suits alum Patrick J. Adams as Paige's investment-banker husband, Amiah Miller, Danielle Vasinova and Kurt Russell in undisclosed roles. For the latest scoops on your favorite TV shows and movies, follow SoapCentral.
