The Voice Season 28 Episode 9 aired on October 20, 2025. The latest episode of the NBC show featured The Battles Part 3.
One of the battles featured in the episode was between Aarik Duncan and Max Chambers. After their performance, when coach Michael Bublé was supposed to choose, and share his decision, he struggles.
Before revealing his decision, The Voice coach noted that both Aarik and Max deserved to be on the show. When the show host asked him to share his decision, Michael shared:
"There's no right choice here. Let me just say that. You both deserve to be in this show. But today...the winner of this battle...is Max Chambers."
The Voice Season 28 Episode 9: Michael Bublé shares his thoughts after Aarik Duncan and Max Chambers' latest performance
NBC released The Battles Part 3 on October 20, 2025 featuring the remaining artists on the show. This included:
- Lauren Anderson vs. Makenzie Phipps,
- Aarik Duncan vs. Max Chambers,
- Aiden Ross vs. Ava Nat,
- Leyton Robinson vs. Manny Costello,
- Conrad Khalil vs. Vinya Chhabra,
- Emmanuel Rey vs. Mindy Miller,
- Carolina Rodriguez vs. Kirbi.
During Aarik Duncan vs. Max Chambers battle, the two performed Just The Two of Us. Fans must remember the age difference between the two artists and the distinct voice the two have. As their performance ended, coaches gave them a standing ovation.
"What a battle! What a battle! Team Bublé. I like the chemistry of you two. How y'all work together, how nobody tried to outwork nobody. But y'all complemented each other. You have two great singers right here who are strong enough to stay on the show. I would probably go with Max. Great performance fellas," shared Snoop Dogg.
The Voice's Niall Horan told Aarik that he took the performance to the next level. He felt that Aarik stood out during the performance in a great way.
As for Max, Niall shared that he was a complete natural.
"It was so good to watch you just shine up there. And you can tell you've had so much stage experience. You just look at complete ease. God, I can't call it, man," added Niall.
He told Michael that he couldn't decide whom he would have gone with, if he had to make the choice. While he wanted to choose Max, he stated that Aarik took the performance th the next level.
Coach Reba noted that the two delivered a spectacular performance. She revealed that if she were making the choice, she would have chose Aarik.
Michael Bublé was the one who had to make the choice, which he struggled to. He shared that Aarik had a gorgeous tonal quality and that it was a perfection.
He noted that despite being 14 year old, there was a lot of light coming out of Max. The Voice coach noted that the two delivered an amazing perfomance. Later, Coach Bublé chose Max Chambers. As a result, Aarik Duncan was eliminated from the competition.
