The Big Bang Theory is one of those sitcoms that has ruled the TV industry for years. With many memorable moments and episodes in the show, the lead cast has made a permanent spot for itself in the hearts of all sitcom lovers. Within the show, while the relationship between Penny and Sheldon is one that fans adore in the later seasons of the show, their relationship sees various tumultuous moments as well.
One of the funniest (for the audience) yet most brutal (for Sheldon Cooper) incident was when Penny ruined Saturday "laundry" night for him during an interesting "war" that was going on between the two.
The incident takes place in Season 2 Episode 7, titled "The Panty Pinata Polarization."

Throwback to when Penny ruined Saturday "laundry" night for Sheldon in Season 2 of The Big Bang Theory
The incident takes place in Season 2 Episode 7, after Penny gets banned from Leonard and Sheldon's apartment after she violates three of Sheldon's rules. Sheldon Cooper is known to be a stickler for rules throughout the show. While the rest of the original gang usually comply with these rules without fuss, Penny, who is unaware of most of these rules in the initial seasons, tends to make mistakes more often.
In one such incident, she made the mistake of touching Sheldon's food and then eventually sitting in his spot. However, she decides to stand up for herself and refuses to abide by Sheldon's rules, trying to teach him to adjust. This, however, results in her getting banished from their apartment.
Instead of backing down, however, Penny decides to teach Sheldon a lesson at his own game, and what follows is eventually an episode where both of the characters do things to get the other one to back down. While Penny refuses to serve Sheldon food at The Cheesecake Factory, Sheldon cuts her off from their WiFi network.
Finally, Penny decides to attack Sheldon in his space of peace and calm. As mentioned earlier, Sheldon Cooper is a stickler for rules and enjoys sticking to a strict routine in The Big Bang Theory.
As per this routine, Saturday night is laundry night for the astrophysicist. Penny, who is by now well aware of his routine, ends up using all of the machines in the laundry room to disrupt his routine, which causes Sheldon great distress.
While Penny seems to believe she has finally one-upped Sheldon, the astrophysicist has yet another trick up his sleeve. Penny makes the mistake of leaving her laundry unattended and eventually ends up finding them hanging by an electric line outside Sheldon's apartment window.

While the to and fro is great fun for the audience watching, it eventually ends since Leonard hands Penny Sheldon's greatest weakness—he gives her Sheldon's mother's phone number. Mrs. Cooper finally gets Sheldon to hand Penny back her laundry and even apologizes to her.
The episode is known to be one of the funniest in the show. It also lets the audience in on a budding friendship that will eventually end up being one of the most memorable friendships shared in The Big Bang Theory—that of Penny and Sheldon.
