Will Untamed Season 2 happen?

If we look back at Eric Bana’s films, we can see that most of them have a dark and edgy tone. Untamed also shares a similar sense of grimness and darkness, which viewers have really appreciated. Eric Bana himself mentioned in a podcast with Variety,

“Most of what I get sent is quite dark and dramatic, and I’ve really enjoyed doing the lighter stuff when it comes along.”

Within just the six episodes of Untamed, his character, Kyle Turner, has provided viewers with a glimpse into the secrets and challenges. These challenges often come with this line of work.

If you have already watched the show, you probably know that it doesn't necessarily leave any loose ends that need tying up. If Untamed Season 2 happens, then we can expect a completely different storyline for Kyle Turner.

The first season ends with Kyle finally able to stop seeing the version of his dead son. He also leaves Yosemite National Park. In the very last moments of the episode “All Trails Lead Here,” Kyle’s heartfelt words towards the visage of his son, Caleb, leave a lasting impact.

“No matter where I am, or where I go, you’ll always be with me.”

It cannot be denied that the ending leaves us wondering about Untamed season 2. In his interview with Variety, Eric Bana reveals that viewers will have to “wait and see”. He also added,

“We spoke about what would happen to Kyle after this, in theory. So you never know.”

Therefore, the idea of a second season cannot be entirely dismissed. Besides Eric Bana himself, the co-creator, Elle Smith, fully supports the idea of continuing the show. In an interview with TV Insider, she discusses the possibility of Untamed Season 2, saying,

“Oh, we would do this forever if they let us, but we’ll see.”

She also adds about the line of work of Kyle Turner,

“They go to different national parks and they do travel from park to park and case to case and things like that. So I think that’s what was interesting to us, and if we got the opportunity to do it again, it would be getting to explore a different park, a different case.”

So let’s not lose hope of getting Untamed Season 2 and keep waiting patiently.
