A humor-filled gem, You're Beautiful dropped years ago, yet maintains a distinct level of intrigue amongst the viewers even today. It comes with a fresh storyline about Ko Mi-nyeo and her path to becoming an idol when her brother ends up in a difficult situation.

She has no choice but to disguise herself as her twin brother and join the band that her brother was supposed to join. However, as a woman, joining a boy band is definitely not an easy task. Soon after she joins, things get complicated for her. She begins to face one difficulty after another.

1) Park Shin-hye as Ko Mi-nyeo

It is rare to see female actors take on a male role and be convincing. However, Park Shin-hye’s performance as Ko Mi-nyeo as she takes on the charge to disguise herself as her twin brother is truly convincing. She perfectly brings life to the nuances of both aspects of her character in the series.

As Ko Mi-nyeo navigates through the challenges after taking on the task to join the boy band for her brother, she slowly becomes involved with the other members of the group in a romantic manner. Her storyline is a distinct combination of hilarious situations enhanced with emotional moments. Some of her other projects are Pinocchio, The Heirs, The Doctors, etc.


2) Jang Keun-suk as Hwang Tae-kyung

With projects such as The Case of Itaewon Homicide, You're My Pet, and many more, in You're Beautiful, Jang Keun-suk brings forth his signature style of bringing life to characters once again. It cannot be denied that Hwang Tae-kyung’s growing feelings for his bandmate, as the series progresses, are truly heartwarming.

From having that distinct cold persona that makes people stay away to completely melting hearts with his feelings for Ko Mi-nyeo, Jang Keun-suk’s Hwang Tae-kyung becomes the heart of the series.


3) Jung Yong-hwa as Kang Shin-woo

Becoming part of a love triangle always ends in a heartbreaking situation, as can be seen in Kang Shin-woo’s case in this series. After Mi-nyeo joined the group disguised as Mi-nam, Kang Shin-woo discovered that Mi-nam is actually a girl. However, he kept the secret and protected her throughout. His growing feelings towards Mi-nyeo eventually lead to heartbreak.

It cannot be denied that viewers often gravitate towards the second leads; in this case, it is also the same. Many viewers wanted Mi-nyeo to end up with Shin-woo in You're Beautiful. Jung Yong-hwa’s performance as Shin-woo is truly worth appreciating.


4) Lee Hong-gi as Jeremy

Lee Hong-gi’s performance as Jeremy, as he brings life to a complex character, makes a lasting impact. Jeremy’s interaction with Mi-nyeo while she is disguised as Mi-nam created quite a difficult situation for Jeremy. He became intrigued by her, without knowing that she was a girl.

This caused quite a lot of confusion for him in the series. It cannot be denied that the aspect of humor with his presence in this series is a significant part of the series.


5) Uee as Yoo He-yi

Uee’s performance as He-yo definitely brings forth a distinct level of complication in You’re Beautiful. He-yi finds out the truth about Mi-nyeo. She then decides to sabotage her by using this information. As a result, things turn sour for Mi-nyeo very quickly.

It cannot be denied that He-yi’s presence in the series added a layer of realism to the series. Some of her other projects include Queen Seondeok, Live Your Own Life, My Only One, etc.
