The Tommy Shelby aesthetic from Peaky Blinders is not one that can be replicated easily. His calm sharpness and broody, aloof yet charming personality have mesmerized fans throughout the years and continue to do so even now, 3 years after the show ended. The love that fans have for this character goes beyond the fictional world, as Cillian Murphy and his enigmatic and private life continue to draw attention from fans.

So, when an opportunity emerged for fans to feel slightly more connected to their favorite characters on the show while donating to a great cause, they did not hold back and helped in raising around $25,000 for charity. Here's what we know.

The Peaky Blinders love made way for a successful charitable auction

Recently, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, which supports research for the cure of cancer and patient care for the needy at Manchester's Christie Hospital, organized a charity auction program for original Peaky Blinders costumes. The gritty 1920s aesthetic of Birmingham, England, along with Tommy Shelby's personal style, made up for an extremely successful auction, as one of Tommy's suits went up for more than $4000 in the auction.

The auction was hosted by Omega Auctions, and the event spanned from April 22 to May 20. The event details also included a themed gathering of fans and the organizers at Manchester's Peaky Blinders bar with costume exhibits as well as live bidding. The event was extremely successful for the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, as one of the sales, Thomas Shelby's wool "Tommy Suit C," was bid for a record-breaking $4063.

This was not the only suit of Tommy's that managed to fetch a high bid, as his wedding three-piece suit, which Murphy donned in the first episode of Season 3 of Peaky Blinders, was bid for $2167. Additionally, the grey three-piece suit that Tommy was seen wearing in the series finale of the show was sold for $2234, bringing just Tommy's suits total to almost $8500.

However, this was not the end, as the exhibit also included a hat that was worn by Sam Claflin in his portrayal of the fascist leader Oswald Mosley. Mosley's hat was bid for $243. Additionally, Polly's coat, which Helen McCrory was seen wearing multiple times throughout the show, also managed to fetch $880.

A lot of other costume items, such as dresses, ties, and shoes, were also put up for bidding, and the total amount that the original costumes' auction managed to bid was more than $25,000 which would make a significant help in better patient care as well as cancer research while making a fan feel a little bit closer to their favorite fictional characters from Peaky Blinders.
