Young Sherlock gets a brand new teaser with an official release date 

Young Sherlock, the eight-episode-long detective title from Prime Video, has released a new teaser and confirmed its official release date. All eight episodes drop on March 4, 2026, and with it, Guy Ritchie is back in Sherlock Holmes’ world.

This time, the focus is on the detective’s earliest years, before he became an icon. The series is based on Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels, which look into a young and restless Holmes long before Baker Street or Dr. Watson appeared.

Ritchie directs the first two episodes of Young Sherlock and serves as executive producer, returning to a franchise he last worked on more than a decade ago.

Young Sherlock presents a raw and unpolished version of Holmes. He is brilliant and impulsive, and still learning to navigate the world. The teaser does what it’s meant to do: it establishes the tone for the central character.

We see the building blocks of Sherlock Holmes’ character take shape during his formative years. He is seen in a polished, clean, and tidy suit and a stylish hat that sets the tone for the future detective icon.

Natascha McElhone, who plays Sherlock’s mother, is seen requesting him to “stay out of trouble.” But as is evident, that request may not come to fruition. Sherlock is eventually dragged into his first murder investigation.

His first case begins simply, yet quickly escalates into a globe-spanning conspiracy that threatens his freedom and reshapes his life completely. The teaser hints at shadowy presences and a dynamic world where risk is never far away.

The clip highlights a version of Holmes still discovering how to control his extraordinary mind. We see explosions, cut-throat action, and Sherlock himself holding what appears to be a pistol in style.

Some scenes later, a striking line declares what Sherlock’s ideal profession should be: that of a detective, as stated by another character. What makes the teaser even more engaging is the tease of witty dialogue, which is likely to balance out the thrilling, fast-paced mystery elements of the show.

The supporting cast of Young Sherlock adds depth and intrigue. Max Irons plays Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s older brother, while Joseph Fiennes stars as Silas Holmes. Dónal Finn appears as James Moriarty, hinting at the earliest seeds of a rivalry that will become legendary.
