"Creativity turns creepy as Henson asks the bakers to craft a horrifying fusion of two beings into one monstrous spliced souls dessert. Judges Carla Hall, Zac Young and Stephanie Boswell decide which baker best captures the terror of transformation."
Soon, the show host announced the challenge for episode 5. It was to bake a "double creature." For that, bakers had to create a spliced souls dessert. He added that it would be a fusion of "two beings into one." It should also have multiple limbs and facial features.
Additionally, the challenge also required the bakers to share the story behind their merged beings. Further, the Halloween Baking Championship host mentioned that the bakers will have to include two different flavors while baking.
"One for each of the tortured souls. Make sure to melt those distinct flavors together seamlessly. Your first flavor would be randomly chosen. The second flavor is your choice. Pick something complementary, but do me a favor, stay away from vanilla or white chocolate. You're better than that," added the host.
The host added that the bakers should bake for their lives because it was the only challenge for the episode. Additionally, they would also face an eviction at the end of the challenge. The baker who would prepare the best dessert would win a thousand dollars, while the least successful baker would be sent home.
One of the bakers, Cory Jones, confessed to the cameras that the stakes were "super high" and there were six of them in the competition. He also mentioned that he had worked very hard to be where he was.
The bakers were given three hours to prepare their spliced souls dessert for the challenge. As the task started, bakers ran to grab their flavors. It included Matcha, Passion Fruit, Cardamom, Black sesame, and more.
