The first official trailer for River Ridge, is out -- and Soap Central is giving fans the first look at the new web series. The two-and-a-half-minute preview offers a look into the lives of the residents of a small town that's really no different than any other town across the country.

It's been several months in the making, but the first official trailer for the new web series, River Ridge, has been released -- and anxious fans will see it was very much worth the wait. The trailer has been made available first to Soap Central readers.

"The fans have been extremely patient awaiting the release of River Ridge and the trailer will provide the long-awaited first glimpse of what they can expect," River Ridge creator Tyler Ford tells Soap Central.

Set in the fictional town of River Ridge and filmed on location in Delaware, the series features dramatic, real-life stories that both soap fans and non-soap viewers will be able to relate to: strained familial relationships, young love, prejudice, economic hardships, and mental illness. The goal of River Ridge, Ford explains, was to "create a patchwork of interconnected stories."

The cast includes Emmy-nominated performers Signy Coleman (ex-Hope Wilson, The Young and the Restless) and Beth Ehlers (ex-Harley Cooper, Guiding Light; ex-Taylor Thompson, All My Children) and Emmy winner Julie Pinson (ex-Janet Ciccone, As the World Turns). Other daytime vets appearing in the project are Shannon Sturges (ex-Molly Brinker, Days of our Lives; ex-Kate Reynolds, Port Charles) and Jon Prescott (ex-Mike Kasnoff, ATWT).

Viewers will be introduced to several performers, including Matthew Daniell, Survivor alum Danielle DiLorenzo, Mark Doherty, Seth Ford, Christina Jackson, Matt McAbee, and Carrie Watt.

In August 2010, Coleman, who also serves as an executive producer on the project, visited Soap Central Live to offers fans a preview of River Ridge.

"I think people are going to be blown away by this series," Coleman gushed. "I'm so excited that I can't tell you. I really am. [W]e really, really want to do something different. I'm just at a point in my life where it's just so important to reach out and touch people, and to try and make a difference and educate people and help people. This is really a big part of my calling at this point in my life."

While a premiere date for the series has yet to be announced, Soap Central is pleased to offer fans the first look at the official River Ridge beginning today, Friday, May 13.
