Beyond the Gates: Best of the Week ending 17th October: Martin gets a proposal, Hayley reveals true colors, and Naomi burns Hayley good

Let’s look at what’s been turning heads and stomachs this week on Beyond the Gates. A quick look at the highlights, best quotes, and gasp-worthy moments for the week of the 13th October, 2025

What happened on Beyond the Gates

As we head into the weekend and eagerly await our next helping of BTG after the weekend, here’s a celebration of all the wonderful moments we got this week.

Smitty (Mike Manning) proposed to Martin (Brandon Claybon) in front of Samantha (Najah Jackson) and Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller), and those two were grinning like a pair of Cheshire cats. This was a touching moment and so lovely to see, as Beyond the Gates has been a bit dark for a while. Kenny (ex Jason Vendryes) was killed by Marcel (Darryl W. Handy), in a crazy plot point, served his paymaster, and murdered Doug (ex Jason Graham) as well, covering it up as a single car accident and a tale of caution about drinking and driving. So we really needed a nice moment that wasn’t sabotaged or otherwise ruined by some malcontent. Speaking of malcontents, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) assumed her ultimate form and showed her true colors.

Revealing herself to viewers when she arrived at the casino and told Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) that it was time to “lock in cuz,” what the heck? Cousins? Sure are, and the two of them are a pair of professional grifters, and they have been playing a long game with Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durett). Objective: have him none the wiser and drain the college fund for their non-existent child, it’ll never be on the way as Hayley has been faking it, and faking everything, well hopefully not … everything or Bill will have another thing to feel aggrieved about. Now Hayley wants to up the ante and kill Bill. Claim the ten million dollar life insurance policy and vanish quicker than that handyman you paid to build your fence in cash upfront.
